ya, use same grade, i.e. 20w50 and you can use 'any' 'bike oil' without issues ranging from mineral to full synthetics across the brands.Originally posted by yackoa View Post

15w40.. i dont think thats a grade with Motul. These oils(300V grades) contain esters which leak if the clearances are not ok. or the gaskets are not 100% functional. When you use other grades from shell etc. which are also FS but do not contain esters, no leakage is observed.Originally posted by prashant_ View PostI used motul 15w40 in my avy 180 and god! I bought a Pulsar 200NS recently.
I have clocked 450km on my ODO and has not changed the oil yet.
My first service is due on 500km on ODO.
My questions are...
1. Should I go for Bajaj 10000 DTSi Oil or Motul 3100 Gold 20w50 oil?
2. If I find difficulty in getting Motul, is it advisable to go for SERVO or CASTROL or even SHELL?
3. Will Bajaj guys pour Motul on request during first service,.?Its not the speed.....it is all about the skill !!!!

no oil will harm your bike. Only thing is bajaj 10k oil doesn't have any great reviews.Originally posted by stephencherian View PostI bought a Pulsar 200NS recently.

Yes you can go with motul, castrol.. (just get the real oil from authorised dealers) But i dont think servo or shell has any offering of xW50 grade oil.
Try valvoline premium 4T 20w50 if you dont get motul.
Check with svc, some let you pour your own oil and some dont. Good reputation goes good and long for these kind of matter.

No Bajaj service ceter will not let you use any other brand of oil except for Bajaj oil. If you want to you can use another brand of oil but then the warranty will be void I confirmed this from Bajaj company as I also wanted to use Motul engine oil.
I replaced the engine oil to Motul 3000 4T from a local mechanic. The engine definitely runs smoother than before and the gear shifts are better and the gears change smoothly.Last edited by fardeen; 09-03-2012, 04:42 PM. Reason: Needed to add more information about the engine oil.

Motul 300 V 10W40 or 15W50
After clocking 17K on Pulsar 150cc ug3, I want to try motul 300 V. I read so many good reviews about this oil and just want to try how my bike will behave. My question is should I go for 10W40 or 15W50? My manul says 20W40 but as most of you know bajaj now recomends 20W50 for dtsi bikes with higher CC engine. Please help me to decide. Thank You.
