Yeah, go for a 20W50 oil. But I would not suggest Castrol - IMO, works like crap!
At similar price range Valvoline Premium 4T is a good oil.

Guys my avenger-180 has covered 40k km and i've been getting it serviced from castrol bike zone for a long time. Now the manual says that a 20w50 rating oil is to be used. And i've been using castrol power1 all this time, which according to this thread is 20w40, right? So is there any other oil in the same price range as the power1 like motul and valvoline? And i just checked the castrol site, and it says activ xtra is 20w50. So how would that fare in my bike??

And will it do any good if i change the engine oil after 3 long years of using power1?? Waiting for your replies.

We had one more member(arvindraju), where a lower grade oil was poured into his Avy 200 at Castrol Bike Zone. Guess they get more profit on Power 1 Racing crap and so pour the grade which is not recommended.

correction: it was not Castrol Bike Zone it was authorised bajaj Service ,castrol bike zone came to my rescue

Oh yeah. Bajaj service itself is enough to screw Bajaj bikes. Looks like they recruit any tom,dick,harry as a mechanic.

I too was taken for a ride that Castrol Bike zone only , where they brainwashed me into buyin that 750Rs/- junk for my bike

Buddy castrol power 1 racing is not a True synthetic oil at all.Castrol is cheating people like you and me.For more info refer to post #794.
On my recent vist ti CBZ i saw a p220 being poured CP1R.Another P150 oil was drained completely andthe mech started the bike and warmed the engine(Yep with no oil in the engine) and adjusted the RPM.I was really glad that i did not leave my bike alone.

As insanebiker said Motul is 1000 times better.

& Yes Motul is 1001 times better & i can vouch for it coz i'm using the green wonder now .

I drained my Power1 Racing just after 80 Kms & replaced it with 300V FL after heeding to the good advice by insanebiker!
