Engine Oils

AFAIK 20W40 is the HH recommended grade for Karizma so no problems there i guess.. Check the manual or google just to be sure..

20W40 grade is ok for karizma,I wanted to know whether MAK engine oils are good or not.Any one using MAK in their bikes? anyway thanks for the reply man.

Yes you are right Synths and Pulsars do not seem to go well to-gether. Many had reported oil consumed at a faster rate than normal..same case with RTR....But complaints arise mostly on sustained high speed runs and not under sane riding...Since you are taking up a long journey, better to be safe than be sorry....Just my thought.

i am using motul 7100 20w50 single ester FS for past 1800km,havent noticed any drop in level.Daily running upto 50km.I guess those who are using 300v are facing this problem.I faced similar problems in my unicorn with petronas full syn.Apparently the block piston got busted even while i maintained the oil level(used to fill 50ml every week)

Have you ever used 5100? If so, is there any significant difference between the two in terms of vibes and gear shifts and engine heating on a fast run?

I will be changing oil this week... will be using the Motul 5100 4T 15W-50... I hope it does not leak or evaporate inside.....any good or bad reviews for this fluid???? pls bombard coz this is the first time iam trying motul!!!!

No Eshan no problems with 5100 at all. In fact.. going by my experience so far and most of the guys using 5100 in pulsars.. pulsars seem to love 5100

Strictly an OK oil is Motul 5100...
Doesnt leak.
Nothing good nothing bad about it...However it is costly and over hyped considering what it offers as a product...
Costs somewhere around 425-450 for a liter can

450/ltr is what i paid about a month ago.. Should be the same now though..

Its 850/litre for the Fully Synthetic. I don't know if the Semi-Synth is in production now.

MAK oils are Bharat Petroleum make . So so oils , if the BPCL made HeroHonda 4t is anything to go by - it wasn't good for me . Moreover the prices you quote are a bit higher while the better 20w40 oils like gulf/motul/elf @ 200 Rs only per liter .

Hi fellow Bhpians !

Well, need to knw which Oil to Go For my Honda Unicorn Dazzler. Cost is Not a prob.. i would rather adjust on a few outings then compromise on my bike.

Which would be the best engine oil for my bike, taking into consideration that my bike as of now has K&N RC-1060 filter (Shifting to R1100 K&N nxt month).. and i use the full RPM Bandwidth almost regularly atleast once (not when the bike is cold.. only after the engine heats up a bit)..
I will soon be getting a few more performance mods.. so considering the changes, what would u Senior Bhpians suggest for my Bike ?
