    • Motul 300V @ 950 in Hyd.

Motul 300v FS in Hyd costing 950... yesterday I was looking around in Ramkote from one dealer where I'd purchased 5 bottles till date. First 1-2 costed me around 750+/- but now he showed me MRP sticker which was showing INR 985 and I bargained last for 950.

Any idea how much is it available else where in Hyd and in other metros.

It's the same, if not more at most other dealers. With new pricing of Motul FS 300V, I am thinking of AGIP for my R15.

              • Andrei , the bajaj recommended oil for Pulsar135LS in India is 20w50 mineral oil , JASO MA grade .

                • Was'nt able to find Motul 3000 so had to settle with Yamalube 20W40 Mineral. The oil surpassed my expectations, because the engine was quick revving, just like when using stock 10W30 oil. Anyways by next week will do long ride's and post the results under constant strain. Yeah and btw it cost me Rs.270/- for a litre.

Yes sir, using the SL MA one. For the time being it feels worth the price, anyways will go to college tomorrow, and hence would be able to know about its extended use performance. And whats the normal drain period for this oil.???

                      • A minimum of 2500 kms in hot and tough city riding . I ran this oil for this much only ... was nice even then .. but I usually drain any oil near 2000 kms ... so . There is also one SG grade (i think) of Yamalube mineral 20w40 available ... cheaper and better .. but not finding it at the yamaha parts counters anymore recently .

                        • Shell Advance - Products | India

I changed to Shell Advance Semi Synthetic from Petronas Fully synthetic oil. The bike in question is Apache RTR - FI. The oil cost me Rs.315

I had to change this cos I couldn lay my hands on any other synthetic oil and the bike was running dangerously low on oil.

First impressions - Gone is the eagerness of the bike to revv like how it used to do with the synth oil. The engine feels lazier and I am not too pleased. I would be ditching this oil but not before eliminating other reasons like an ECU reset or choked fuel filter for the reduced throttle response.

                          • ^^ well, actually this shell 10w40 semi synthetic oil (ax7) is a pretty decent oil. I have used it number of times in my unicorn dazzler & was quite happy with its performance.

Pinakiji, I am not sure you remember our previous conversation about the service guy not changing the oil filter and me having said I'll change it along with Motul as you recommendation in about 1k. But now I have run on the Yamalube SL for near to 900km and the oil hasn't changed its color, stickiness or the quality yet, guess it can easily run another 1000-1500km more, do you think its justice to change them both, I feel its waste of money if I change now.

Here's my other experience. Each time I go to shell to top up the tender there asks me to go for shell premium petrol, or get the oil changed! A pal of mine who rides along with me to college on his bike wanted to give the Shell AX5 a try, its a 10W-30 , not sure of API or JASO ratings for his CBZ extreme and after a month he says he got it changed back to Savita, the shell looked good when he drained but performance had taken a hit, no idea why!
