New shipment has arrived today. Didn't wait for it as I liked the Green Acme model.
Mr.Prem at the shop was helpful.
    Price : MRP 4996 - 250(Thanks to the tax exemption) - Store discount = Rs.4700.
Fantastic helmet for that price, Superb quality comparing any helmet at 5k range.

Tried LS2 Crown(Orange), again felt huge for my head also heavy.
All in all an excellent purchase.
SOL is always a beautiful helmet, cool designs too. Good to know you've purchased a nice helmet.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          • I Have One BIG question...
All these Helmets out there approved ISI,DOT,ECE,etc.etc...till what extent they protect your head??? day b4 yesterday saw an accident where a truck went over the guys head and he died on the spot!!...He was not wearing helmet, don't ask how the accident happened all i know it was not his fault except the helmet stuff...I was really shocked...now m serious about my safety while riding my bike...please somebody tell me motorcycle helmet can take load of a truck bus or car without bursting my head, or not???

Right now i am using Studds Ninja...planing for new helmet and a better one in near future...

I myself think the same thing, tht is it really possible for the helmet to take such a huge amount of load?
I dont think it can take the load of a bus or a truck. They weigh in tonnes. It 'might' protect for a small car or so. not sure. Experts can definitely help out with this question

But why wait till something is invented which would serve that purpose too ? Instead stick to the ones available which would atleast provide minimum protection ! Ride safe...always wear a helmet !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Helmets are made to just protect from the impact and it is not a hard metal piece to withstand pressure due to weight....majority of the accidents happen and turns out to be fatal due to the impact and most of the certified helmets can withstand this when you bang on a hard object

                  • Helmet is not for saving you when you get under a truck. Not even a 1 Crore Mercedes can do that.
eg: Mercedes luxury car become dead car for nirmal - YouTube

The only option here is to be extra careful around trucks. No matter whether you are on a bike or in a car. Helmets are for occasions when you have minor falls which have potential to become fatal.

                      • Just be careful to never drive in front of a truck for too long and most probably you will be alright. :P Jokes apart, the helmet as well as you head would be crushed beneath the tyre of a truck, yes, I said it! But why don't you never let that happen from your side. Your head coming beneath the truck is like one in a million chance. Don't worry too much just buy a good helmet and drive sanely. You should be alright.

i saw an episode on "destroyed in second" show on "Discovery Channel"...some random guy met an accident with a car....the car tyre bounced over due to helmet and he didn't died.... that's where the question came in my mind.

Dude, dude, let me share my two cents. First of all all the ISI, DOT ECE, etc are in place, to make sure the helmets have standards for impact tests. Now even Shoei, Arai, Bell whatever, is not 100% fool-proof, they are HELMETS, they just protect us if we take a hit or take a slide accidentally, that's all, that's all is what helmets are for. During testing, the manufacturers drop, certain amount of weight on the helmet at the vulnerable areas, not a truck running over to see if it doesn't crack, of course it will. It's just plastic and other space age materials.

Now to your question about, vehicle running over a guy head, it's inevitable, a helmet, be whatever material is made of doesn't have enough capacity to carry SIGNIFICANT amount of weight on either sideways or at the helm, it gets crushed instantly and crushing what's inside it.

Even Gladiator helmets, lol, can't save you from a truck running over your head!

It doesn't really matter what brand you wear, it's all that you wear something and that's really good, Studds is a superb brand. Had the Ninja for two years before jumping to a new one. Wear Helmet Always!!

P.S. Forgive me, but I had a hearty laugh of your question, instantaneously!! No offense!

                            Cheers!
