SOL helmets
Hi, i wanted to check this with owners of SOL helmets, I had a chance to go and see the helmet and was surprised that inside the lining is so sparse that one can see the thermocol! Is that right? or were the model's i saw missing an inner lining? Can someone send snaps of the inside of the SOL?
Fit finish is great, but was a lil disappointed with the insides, so i thought i should ask? at 4K+ for the helmet i was expecting better insides as well.

There is AH Helmets at Link Road, Andheri near Lokhandwala. Also there are 2 shops near DN nagar, link road, andheri. As far as i know he is the only authorized dealer of SOL helmets in Mumbai. Besides there is a shop in Bandra called Funky's and some shops in malad. Though the best shop is Perfomance Racing in Tardeo.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostLooking for Helmets ... SOL is an international brand that sells in many countries globally and to my knowledge, the company that owns the SOL brand and the factory that makes it is based in Taiwan and the US.Originally posted by vectorz View PostHi, i wanted to check this with owners of SOL helmets, I had a chance to go and see the helmet and was surprised that inside the lining is so sparse that one can see the thermocol! That said, you are right in that the SOL helmet liners are pretty sparse compared to some of our heavily padded local products. I'm assuming that you're talking about the top portion because the cheek-pads and crown are heavily padded with memory foam and lined with CoolMax fabric.
The reasons ( and I HAVE asked
) quoted are these;
- The top padding is not the primary safety layer on the helmet. It merely serves as a comfort liner, so that your head is not in direct contact with the EPS liner which is the primary shock absorption layer.
- SOL helmets are renowned for their multiple vents and channeled air-flow through the specially designed ducts in the EPS liner. Extra material in the comfort liner would block these vents.
That said, while I do agree with the rationale, since the helmets are DOT certified, I personally would have preferred some extra lining too !
Thankfully I'm a balaclava user, so the top of the comfort liners are inconsequential to me.

Airoh, arai are worth coz of their brand value,Sebastian vettel the f1 driver himself uses an arai helmet,Originally posted by SlowSpeed View Postis Airoh helmet good ...... im planing to buy Airoh speed fire pit bull.... from bachoo motors... is it worth it?
have a look at other brands too like ls2,shoei,sol,kbc,sparx and check the fit and finish,if you find a lots of difference in terms of quality and comfort between airoh and other brands, then it is definitely worth the money,if there is not much vast difference then spending a huge premium just for brand value doesnt makes sense.

Depends. Do not use tinted visor when riding at night, as it reduces visbility significantly. Use a clear visor for evening or night ridesOriginally posted by Majesty View PostHi,
I am planning to buy a LS2.
So, I wanted to know if is it possible to use the visor at night? Or change it to completely transparent ones during rain or night?

As I am already letting it up for sale, due to tighter fit, I usually wear an L, but then this being a race helmet, the fit is a little tighter, and my being on the heavier side, have breathing problems as compresses my cheeks out of the helmet. Do let me know if you're intersted.

And P.S. I am not selling it for the Bachoo Motors price, but a reduced price.
Now the above as a side note and that being said, AIROH is real cool, superb finish, Italian finesse, design and quality, NO ARGUMENTS there. But the only thing is price. If you feel you can go for it, then go for it, else you have lot of budget brands out there.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Dude, tell your budget first
1. Pioneer has a clear visor for LS2 go get it (450 bucks)
2. Spartan progear near Akkarai has SOL helmets
3. Velavan motors, valasaravakkam has Rjays I think not sure, call them and check it outCBR250R |
Bajaj Pulsar 180 - dts i |
Bajaj CT 100
Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.
