Hi, I went to ''Only Helmets shop'' today at Mulund. I checked LS2 spartan and 1-2 other models.. their finishing looked questionable to me plus no DOT embedded in it and then asked him phobia(which he got it out a packing) and looked atleast better than the previous ones (finishing plus and ECER sticker on it)

He was quoting 3k for it and said additional 550rs for a clear visor.

My biggest dilemma is how to spot out a fake one from a real one. LS2 models priced same but one looking better in quality than the other...

I got the phobia for 2800rs.
Clear visor was for 3.1k.
And that he said Dollar price is high, which was not. But I had to buy because of dust on Mumbai roads.

Anyone from EKM, TVM, KTM in Kerala who knows from where I can buy a legitimate LS2, Cross or any such reputed lids? I saw this website, bikegear.in had them on stock, but I would like to try the fit if possible, before buying it. I hope someone responds.

LS2's visor costs some 550 odd bucks not ($62) 3.1k, it's darn not costlier than the helmet itself. They've made a A$$ out of you mate, sorry to say this. Did you try some place else? You could have searched some place or asked for help here, someone in your area might have helped you out. :'(

Dot is for US, I guess !



But even this is not embedded !

Almost most of the LS2 helmets are sold with the marking ECE which adheres to standard of European "headbanging" testing standards, and same goes for DoT for US.

I say this because the finishing looked good on the helmet (a LS2 Phobia) but the "stickers" just put a hint of doubt on it..

Ahh! I'm dragging this too much... I'll browse more stores to get a better idea of what an LS2 feels like!

Tell you what, the same question was asked by another member too, and my answer was the same. Most of the LS2s out there have ECE "stickers" I repeat STICKERS out there as opposed to clear coat over them. I wasn't shocked by the way, it was. And there is a reason why the clear coat goes over. People in the US tend to remove these stickers in good old days when they were still noobs like us, now.

So to make them prevent it from happening the clear coat idea was convinced to make sure it stays the same all conditions. ECE sticker outside doesn't really necessitate fake, but having said that, it's really hard even for a trained eye to spot a fake LS2. But by comparison and feel, one care surely rule out a fake from a genuine.

Now that the talk about the fakes has come up, can anyone suggest me the shops in Bangalore which stock genuine LS2 lids? I'm a student and if I pay for a fake, my pockets will be hurt a lot
Are Phobia and Piston Head same apart from the graphics?
What should be the expected price of the above mentioned lids with bill as B'lore dealers seem to overprice stuff...

You trolling buddy? ROFL! So if one earns handsomely, can he pay for handsomely, and buys a fake, won't his pockets hurt a lot too. Kidding.

Phobia and Piston head are more or less the same, with the fit being a little narrower and the rear vents missing in the Piston Head. But mind you piston head is nice helmet, my friend has one, silver color and it's good as it gets, bought it for 3k~ in eBay.


Fake to non-fake is not possible without seeing the helmet in and of itself. Check the store first, if it's cheap and shoddy, definitely there is chance it might be fake, and you can ask some questions about the helmet itself to the reseller, all these will give you "clues" to either go for it or no, that's the best advice one can give. All the best.

Make sure, there aren't any loose vents, or shoddy paintjob, chips etc in the helmet, which are prime indicators of fake.

I got my LS2 phobia(via friend) from 'megha enterprises' costed just 2.5k.
