LS2 come without graphics too, I think you should look out for a new shop if you are yet to find a LS2 with zero graphics. LS2 helmets are ECE rated while Studds and Steelbird are ISI rated, so they altogether belong to different class of helmets.

Read the following blog as it may help you understand the "basic" significance of different helmets. Introduction to different types of Motorycle Helmets | Bike Chronicles of India . This may be of great help to you in deciding the kind of helmet you should choose because "a fully covered sports helmet with half open" is not a clearly defind terminology for a helmet.

Hi Guys.. I finally made up my mind and picked the SOL SS1 (Dual Sport) helmet on Sunday late evening.. Picked Size M which is snug fit for me and when I rode back from HSR to home felt as if my face is gonna get crushed and I felt some pain on the cheek just below the ear and now after two days of use the padding is kind of breaking in and the pressure felt on the face is reducing to some extent.. So i guess once the break in is done it should be fine..
I'll post a small review and pics after a few days of usage..
For now the I get a bigger view cause of the nice big visor and I've done a speed of 100kmph and the helmet doesn't move at all (the flap doesn't hinder).. About wind noise compared to my LS2 its very less.. but yes wind noise exists to some extent..

Cons as of now is that there is no Dark Visor for this helmet so I'll have to live with it... (I wear glasses hence using sun glasses is not possible)

Thanks to @Sunnyside_up! & @B7ACKTHORN for answering all my questions.. Cheers!!

Did you get the right size? It should not be so tight as to hurt. The SS1 DOES have a dark tint visor. It is sold as an aftermarket accessory - ask your dealer to check - new arrival!

I have two CROSS lids, bought in 2009 and 2011. I cannot find the model numbers but think that both may be the "FF001" base model.

Both are urgently in need of an inner padding change due to fair wear and tear over the years - I use one in Pune whilst on leave and the other in Rajkot where I am posted. The sponge has lost its compression, the faux leather is worn out and the helmets are no longer a snug fit as they are supposed to be. I wash the liners regularly yet, time takes its own toll.

Question Number 1. Is an inner lining available as a separate entity for sale for this model? If yes, then please do help me to source it.

Question Number 2. If the answer to Q N 1 is in the negative, then please advise me towards a similar helmet brand where I can get spare inner linings.

                  I await your response.

I don't know exactly as to where they sell cross accessories, but the guys who retail cross lids CAN sell them. If you can't get them then try swapping another cheekpad if the snap on buttons and the design is similar.

Pardon my lack of knowledge to help you in working out suitable answers to the issues you are facing, but I would here like to add that one of your Cross Helmet belonging to 2009 need to be replaced as it has already protected you good and has almost completed its safe working life

Congratulations boy boy !! but that fitting situation sounds terrible because snug fit is not something which in turn serve you with such a discomfort. Taking a simple example, We all wear ring which are kind of custom snug fitted to the finger as per its size and do not cause a discomfort even without a padding !! so I guess may be you should have taken a size bigger than M .................. did you try L or not ??

My suggestion is to try your luck at stores bargaining better prices for a LS2 or Cross or THH helmet and you will cherish your purchase as a biker

Boy, you had said NOOOOO to graphics and now you are falling for them !!!!

My suggestion here is to love graphics and buy the best graphics that suits your taste, after all helmets are no more just an accessory but a fashion statement too !! and furthermore avoid buying a flip-up helmet "because as far as I know everyone enjoys a natural JAW LINE than a surgically tied up JAW" ............. and it is legal enough in India to buy a full face helmet ............ so go ahead and choose one

Yes I did say NO to graphics of Ls2 helmets because I feel it's too much of graphics but the Steelbird helmets has quite decent kind of graphics which I like. . . I can try getting LS2 at that price as it's one of my friend's friend shop but what about any other helmets like Ninja or something else, I just saw it yesterday and what's wrong with Steelbird helmets???
