Re: Helmets
Yup it feels way better than LS2. And by the looks it was love at first site.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostGood deal, I would say!! Going by the looks, I can say that unlike the usual LS2 it is a snug fit, the finish is smooth and flawless and of course the ECE labelling looks genuine. I would categorize LS2 FF350 as the entry level lid amongst all the ones this thread's been discussing (non-ISI
). Prices of these helmets will remain uncertain as long as it is not sold & marketed by an registered importer - Some will get lucky & save upto 500 INR while others just pay what they are quoted. AFAIK, I have not seen TUZO in Bangalore till now, even though there is a good number of standard helmet retailers here.
Bro your points are completely genuine. I myself saw a NUVO with same R&D graphics. But its the feel of the thing which makes you pay twice the money than the current thing.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostHate to burst your bubble - but what you got is actually a helmet made by the same manufacturer as LS2. MHR helmets manufactures LS2, NUVO, Rjays, Daijya and Cross too, among others. That's why the exact same graphics have made an appearance in Rjays and Nuvo in the past. You can verify the manufacturer from the embossed MHR lettering on the side of your visor.
However, fret not - the fact that the helmet is not mass sold yet in India, probably means that this was from a batch that was meant for the EU, that's why it got the painted certification and you feel it superior to your previous helmet, so enjoy your purchase!

Re: Helmets
im having sol metal man .. if u want to have a look before u buy u can try mine ... as the other guy stated buy from those shops itself .. street flames is also pretty gud shop ... he had collection of sparx too but too few .. he told me he also sold sol helmets previously but quoted around 6k for it :SOriginally posted by Trideep View PostHi Guys,
I have been following this thread for sometime and have decided to invest in a good helmet. Any pointers on where to buy a good Helmet in Hyderabad?
I see that a lot of people are opting of SOL and it seems to be of good quality, not sure if I can get it locally here in Hyderabad, any shop that stock SOL in Hyderabad?
People who have bought SOL on-line, how was the experience and did you have any issues with the size?
Recently visited Adventureontherocks.com, but seems like they are robbing people in daylight, I was quoted 4200 for an LS2, when I can see that ebay has them for 3500 or less. Plus the helmets in the store did not have any ECE sticker or any other certification and the text on the visor was all in Chinese. Really no t sure if they are the Original LS2s.
Would appreciate any help!
my buying experience of sol helmet online was pretty gud ... neatly packaged .. arrived in two days . one other guy ordered with me and got damaged shipment which was rectified by sunny and he received replacement.
ps : advontherocks is gud but price is on the higher side :/ better avoid thembumble bee \m/

SOL SL 68S
Does any body have experience with this particular model? How do you rate this helmet in terms of quality and VFM.
The LED light on its back does it keep it stays on or keeps blinking. I assume there will be an on/off switch for it.
I am planning to get a new helmet (full face only) and with a budget of 5k i am planning to get this model for myself.
Any other suggestions in this price range then please advise. I can increase my budget by another 1k if it helps in getting a better quality.
I am looking for a helmet with good ventilation (during summers) and should be of good quality.

Re: Helmets
Hello guys, I am back and I think this is the last question I am going to ask regarding buying a new helmet. . . I just went today to buy some spray paint for my bike, while coming back I just went to a helmet shop to see and trial some of the helmets as I said earlier I will be purchasing one. . . I inquired him about different kinds of helmets, he said he has got no LS2, no Tih and no SOL and just showed me some Studds helmet, . . The Studds one was good with good ventilation and kind of not heavy weight but I still didn't like it and was about to walk away when another guy in the same shop called me back and asked me to see one new model that has arrived. . . It was a Vega Helmet (forgot the exact model name and little lighter in weight too), superb looking, (pics will be updated tomorrow has don't have card reader presently), he said it costs me somewhere 2k or 1.97k something. . . I really liked the helmet, it's a full faired helmet, with some ventilators, and good view and the finish also looks neat and tidy, except I found a little kinda thing in the helmet where he said it's nothing except the gum that has been left over. . . He said it's the only single piece available. . . It's full black color, looks cool too and I can get some graphics if I want later. . . Now the thing is he said he does not know whether it'll be available as it'll take another 10 days for me to make that purchase, so he asked me to give some advance and go. . . I thought I would first ask your suggestions and then pay the advance or not. . . One more thing I observed and he said me is that "IT DOES NOT HAVE ISI MARK, IT HAS DOT ON IT". He said it's imported and it's kind of like introductory model, so guys what's your opinion on this. . ? Should I pay him some advance and then collect the helmet after I get my salary or else should I do something else. . . The pics will be uploaded in the morning. . . Kindly reply ASAP. Thank you all. . .
Cheers!!!

ehh ?
Don't pay him now.
That's the only line every shopkeeper having from years "ye Bik Jayega fir aane mein time lagega".
I guess it must be Vega Cara !
It really got some good shape and graphics to catch eyes.
If its cara its safe to buy
Go look in vega or Studds retailers place if you're looking for them.
Or if you want LS2, start searching for some nearby shops or even if far, make a weekend trip and get it

Sird, nope it's not Cara, the name was something different, he said it's a new launch and it's kind of an introductory model, so asking your reviews. . . The name was something like AXoR or something else, don't remember exactly but it has x in it, probably second letter or so. . .Originally posted by Sird View Postehh ?

Re: Helmets
It's been nearly few weeks of using the
Sol hornet SL 68 SII
The helmet is pretty solid and stable at higher speed
And relatively low wind noise at speeds of 120
The graphics are pretty amazing and are of very good quality and I love the scoop at the back of the helmet which makes it look futuristic compared to other helmets available at the market
And the D-ring mechanism takes time to get accustomed but once u get used to it u feel it easy to operate
And the padding near the cheek area is too good and supportive
Coming to intake and exhaust vents
The helmet airflow is pretty good
And I hardly sweat inside even after closing the visor fully even on a sunny day !
The Lining of the inside is well cushioned
But at some places it are mis fitted and loose ,near the fore head area which comes out sometimes
Coming to the visor part
I bought a clear and even a iridium visor
And to my surprise the visor is a scratch magnet
I wiped the visor with a new , clean micro fibre cloth and it got scratched and many swirl marks and the coating is peeling off in few areas
So need to order a new visor
Probably il go with the smoked visor this time
Overall
I rate this helmet a total value for money and bang for the buck
With DOT standards
And good customer support
I recommend this product if any one is looking forward to purchase it
Cheers

Allo ka pratha actually screwed my stomach after an hour (got impatient to reach home..although I was carrying toilet paper) :P
I need to stick to my rules of not consuming solids on trips.. fruit juices (not canned) + a redbull once in couple of hours.. are perfect to replenish... and keeps safe from spoiling the trip.
