I used to race in the UK, and especially in endurance races, the specs and the visor would easily fog up (especially at night). The cheapest and the easiest way to avoid this is by wiping your visor, and if you want, your glasses with a mixture of water and washing liquid. This works wonders for the visor - I haven't tried it for my glasses. The easiest way to avoid spectacles from fogging up would be by leave a finger width of space open at the bottom. Usually works.
I recently purchased an MT Blade SV Reflexion helmet from ProBiker in Pune. The reason I am writing this post is because there has been very little on this thread about SPGs customer service, something that I had to interact with for the past few days. So this is a review of how SPG works when it comes to after sales service and hopefully, comes of use for some of you'll.
I got my helmet on Thursday (13/07) for 6,250 from SPGs primary seller, Probiker. While I did inspect the helmet at the store, I seem to have admittedly not done a complete inspection before buying and paying for it. A day after the purchase (the helmet was unworn and unused because of the rains here), I noticed that the vent on the rear right side was raised, and didn't fit into it's notch. This was very distressing for me, and since I can get as pedantic as possible, I thought that this might be because the helmet was probably dropped by the reseller and may not be a 100 percent.
I wrote to SPG at [email protected] on Saturday morning, and didn't expect to hear back from them until Monday. On Monday, their head of alternate channel sales, Muthulaksmi R got in touch with me and asked me to send the helmet for a physical inspection. I immediately packed the helmet in the box it came in, double bubble wrapped it and sent it on its way with DTDC. The courier cost me Rs 1,200. It reached them in Chennai on Wednesday morning, and I immediately got a mail from Muthulakshmi R suggested that a replacement would be sent the next day. True to their word, on thursday, one week since I'd purchased the helmet, SPG dispatched my new helmet via DTDC couriers and provided me with a tracking ID. This reached me the next day, and the new helmet was the same colour and size. The was just a very very small dent near where the rubber along the visor is, but I'm not going to be too worried about that. SPG also issued me with a Rs. 300 credit note immediately, and I used it to buy a new iridium visor as well.
All in all, SPGs service has been superb. I was worried about how a helmet distributor would deal with such an issue (this is my first time returning a helmet), but I was impressed with the professionalism and punctuality in communication and their operations. My only gripe was that the box in which the helmet came was torn and soggy because of the rains - and upon giving them this feedback, they said they were already working on a new out box design.
I've attached the images of the manufacturing defect below:
