@all:- Guys am searching for a new helmet since i have broke my previous ones due to my rough handling.
My budget is 2.5k. The cheaper it is, the better. Am having a lil big head & i dont care if the helmet is lighter or heavier until it is comfy to me & safety is not compromised. I would be mostly riding in the city. The helmet should be good enough in bangalore rains.

Am thinking about LS2 or cross (the one for 1700). Any other suggestions are also appreciated. Thanks in advance

BTW i had forgot to tell you guys that am a music maniac. So the helmet should be good enough to accomodate an earphone in it.

can anyone suggest me a good place for buying helmets in kolkata.
i currently use a ls2 dragon but i want to upgrade.
i want a good helmet my budget is 6k. but i cant find even one single shop in kolkata . plus for the info the asking price of ls2 dragon over here is 4800.

@madhav - Get a Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset... Goes well with any helmet - It has the in-ear speakers, and the voice quality from it is superb. Even when riding in heavy wind, there is no howling noises to the person at the other end. It comes at a price of 3800 here in Trivandrum.

Isn't it an offense to ride a bike listening to music ? ... Its more dangerous with In-ear type earphones and helmet on top making it virtually a sound proof system blocking any noise from outside making it difficult/impossible to hear horns of oncoming vehicles from rear side ... I own Jabra's BT3030 but the fear of turning deaf on road makes me scared hence I avoid using it while riding.

@Rony - yeah, thats correct. But we always have the option of keeping the volume low... Though I use the headphone all the time, while in city and other attention-required places, i dont play music. Its just to notify myself of incoming calls from select people.
But while on long rides by desolate highways (like Nh7 ) I do blast it...

Riding safe is always the first priority...

My point in recommending music players with in-ear headphones is that, they dont cause much issue with any helmets, plus the MW600 offers the convenience of having call/music controls which can be worked with a gloved hand, and being a handsfree, does not require you to take out the mobile from the pockets (inside your jacket/riding pants)...

I get your point brother, but my question is will you be fined by traffic police for doing so in city limits ?

Thats for the folks in the US. If you are in USA and crash with a SparX lid, all you need to do is forward a copy of the police report and they'll replace your helmet for free.

Highly probable... though I've never been accused of that the few times I was pulled over... those times I either did not remove the helmet, or pulled the headset out discretely while removing the helmet... . They will be too busy giving me a look-over (with all the jacket, gloves etc)... hehe

Sorry bro but i dont use my mobile for hearing music but instead i use a transcend mp3 player & it doesnt has bluetooth connectivity. Any suggestions over helmets which allow an earphone inside. Will be getting a new in ear phones from either creative or philips.

Simple answer. Do it on your own risk. If you have confidence then use it otherwise stay away from it. For the horns etc you can use the RVM's for seeing any vehicle behind you.

The music rather keeps me from sleeping & helps me munch more miles with out any stress. It helps me in not getting distracted towards a beautiful gal going on the road .

I have got pulled over thrice in my whole biking history. But had paid fine only once. But never got pulled over while using an earphone. I dont think it is an offence.

Hi I picked up an LS2 helmet 2months back... i am really not comfortable with the mercury visor as the visibility goes for a complete toss at night and if you add rains to this recipe, well you know what i am talking about.

Can someone please suggest, if it is possible to replace the mercury visor with a genuine LS2 clear one and if so where can i get it from. Safety is my priority so i would not like to compromise on that by fitting any random cheap visor. If that is not an option then are RJays a better option??

The clear visor should be available at the store where you purchased the helmet from. There is no need to go to the extent of picking a new helmet.

If that store doesn't have the plain visor, let us know where you are from, & we can help you locate a store that sells LS2 visors.
