I know a few guys who have this air-pump thingie in their LS2's but feedback seems to be that it is more sales gimmick than anything else. The pump apparently takes many presses to actually inflate the cheek-pads and after the novelty wears off, they stop using it because of the nuisance factor.

However, please do check with some owners of this type of helmet as I'm just reporting feedback that I've received.

Also, considering your wear-out record, it may be wiser to go for a type that has less parts to wear out!

    • One of my Colleagues is visiting US. So was wondering if I could get a Helmet from there.
From where should I ask him to purchase?
I have a budget of INR 4000. So What brands & models?
What about customs? Can it be carries as baggage?

      All help would be appreciated.

+1 I own a Daijya and I personally must have used the pump only twice so far. It is a nuisance unless I'm pumping for a long ride

          Something sounds familiar here...

          • the helmets that are retailed in 2 wheeler showrooms cost more than the actual vendor ,right??

            • The one thing that made me buy the LS2 FF358 was the air-pump system. It was the only helmet in the whole market (read reputed brand) that was available that fit my head. At full-pumped state the helmet did give me some fit compared to the other models. It also adds a bit quietness inside the helmet, compared to say when its deflated. That said, it still is a lot big for my head. An "M" sized shell would have been perfect.

I have no idea, why all brands have to be sold only with L and XL shells. There is no S or M shell size helmets.

Pumping up the system every time you use can be a lot annoying. It takes about 10-15 max presses for complete inflation. Not more than that.

@Sunny Sideup- Though i am tempted for a Nexx helmet after seeing yours, i guess it will be another time. For now, is there any company/brand that sells a "M" size shell helmet. (And not any "L" sized shell with "M" cheek pads. Such a package was offered for me in Bangalore). My budget is not more than 10k.

                Amen!

Thank you guys for all the advice.. Now I have shortlisted the LS2 Evil Twin.. basic no frills helmet. @2650/- Quite a bit inside the budget. Feels nice on the head, fits snugly. Adequately ventilated. Anything else I need to be careful about?

Also any feedback on the wind noise bit? Cross didn't make the shortlist because I didn't find the designs appealing enough. Am I missing something?
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

the pics and description looks genuine even if the price if quite high compared to local shops!
make sure you ask the seller before buying if the bill,LS2 stickers, booklet and helmet bag are included as these come along with the package!

also make sure of the helmet size before purchase!

                            • Thank you very much

I actually was asking one of my friends in US to get it for me.. It seems to be insanely expensive here in India.

As against $ 170 in US. A showroom in Bangalore is quoting the price to be INR 19500.

Any of you guys know a place or 2 close to chennai where i can get this helmet.

                              • Guys forgot to ask in my last post, but which place (or shop certainly) I can get to SEE various models of LS2, and can purchase one at reasonable rate.
                                Thanks in advance.
