If you think your legs are a tad leaner for the boot to fit, invest in a pair of riding pants first, so that when you wear it over them, you get that chic fit. Many of my friends do the same, no difference whatsoever.

since you have a good budget for gloves, buy the best you can. i am using Rjays H2O gloves from last almost two years, and i wear them daily for 3 hours, home to office and back ... see i commute almost 160 kms daily, and i am wearing them since last two years, be it summer, winter or rainy season, and it rains like hell here in aamby valley, and even after 2 years they are in good shape, withstood everything thrown at them. very strong, robust build quality, really long lasting, and i think it will hold good for 1-2 years more. i purchase them for 3400 rupees i guess. sadly they are not available now. these are all weather gloves. but moral of the story is Rjays build quality is very good. genuine product. some pics--

regarding boots, i also have Rjays H2O boots, and i purchased them along with the above gloves and i wear these boots also for daily commuting so 3 hours daily use in every season since last two years, and excellent build quality, holding up very nicely, no problems till date. good protection too. sadly again this model is not available now, but again moral of the story is Rjays have excellent build quality.

so in short Rjays are good product and since you are in mumbai, you can try them out, so don't decide without checking Rjays physically.

one more thing about boots, full height boots are not very practical for everyday use, and walking is a little bit difficult in them. when i purchased these boots i did not pack them, instead i started my return journey on bike wearing these shoes and i was like WTF am i wearing, i was having great difficulty changing gears and using rear brake. so it takes some time to get used to them and it also takes some time for the shoes to properly break-in. even after that walking is difficult, an depends on how much habitual you get and how much the shoes have break-in. now i don't have much difficulty walking around in these shoes, but still these are not meant for walking.

if you are looking at Rjays Sprint, a better option can be Urban or Fuel. you should be more comfortable walking in these as compared to full height boots for daily purpose and will provide more prototection than Sprint (which does not have toe protection).

one more thing, anything that is 100% breathable and 100% waterproof is only waterproof to some extent.

        • Has anyone picked up anything from BMW? I believe Navnit Motors is the official dealer for them, but has anyone purchased anything there? BMW has a large range of protective clothing and accessories, but I know of nobody who has bought anything from them. I can't seem to see the prices of anything either but the website has a large catalogue of the accessories.

I've read some reviews about BMW jackets, people who use them have been all praises about them. Not here, but other firgani threads. Wow, good to see some uber cool protective gears heating up the Indian market. Bet you, those would be suited for deep pocketed individuals. Let's see. Perhaps a guy who owns a BMW motorcycle with dedicated BMW gears can pop in.

            Cheers!

well, i kind of forgot the model name, and this model is not available with "bachoo motors" anymore so not displayed on their website now, so no way to recollect as model name is not written on shoes.

wait let me check the reciept, will get back to you.

Edit: yes there is tag inside shoes, its Rjays Edge Boots.

I intend to be that guy one day even though the pockets are nowhere close to being deep!! And the motorcycle being none other than the legendary S1000RR :P

Jokes aside, I have decided that I will go for Helios with complete Knox protectors. I guess it might be a bit expensive but as I have read here, these are the best protectors available for that price. Is there any other alternative I should be considering here??

Also wanted to upgrade gloves too but no clue what exactly to look for in a glove! Was thinking of DSG Revive as of now. Would prefer full gauntlets than just the wrist ones.
                Ride hard.. Ride safe.. Always!

                  • would be great if someone could post a comparo between trg2, primal & ares - all are full gauntlet gloves. i am using dsg revive and while they are good, they also have presented me with a peculiar problem - the leather is stitched such that the inseam at the finger is such that my fingernails keep getting caught in it. this is getting in the way of riding but as a workaround, im being forced to ride with regularly manicured nails! real irritant in an otherwise great glove.

On a side note, has anyone tried out the RE riding boots? thinking of getting them at a later date if they are good enough, else i always have my trusty forclaz 500 to fall back on

No Riding pants & NO helmets , so Went with SOL for Helmets & Riding pants I am still deciding... Also the Gloves which are there In Bachoo motors aren't like DSG Carbon or TRGII protecting your Palm & Wrist completely ... but I can trust Rjay's quality any time then any other brand...

Let me try keeping it short. Yes RJays pants and quite a few jackets have been shaved off from Bachoo motors inventory, at least as of now.

I would not suggest you to go for AGV simply because cost to product proposition is just not right in my opinion.

Second Cramster pants have been used by a lot of my friends and have lasted really well.

DSG pants are good too, never worn them but the guy using it said the zippers aren't that good, but fit wise super chic fit.

That aside, go for full gauntlet gloves like primal in DSG for the price to value and primal is one darn tough glove

Great. Regarding safety, these are better than sneakers and jogging shoes. Don't expect it will save you from a crash, but yes to an extent.

Most of the balaclavas out there are so poor quality. Some are genuinely faked with the name of leading names, including my friend who bought a genuine fake a* glove and even started boasting about it until I made him realize what a fake is.

See for loose threads and poor stitch, when you wear poor balaclavas, it tends to rash your mouth part where the stitch is poor and lumpy.

At Price around 5k - 6.5 I would go with Rjays Swift any time looking at Comfort, quality & protection....

I don't know how its been used this much here in Mumbai :/No offense to users but was just putting up my thought !!!
