See? Sounds silly, doesn't it?
I never go out on my bike without my gear on - even for short rides. I sometimes don't put on my boots and knee-pads when in the city and even then I feel that I'm tempting fate. But helmet, jacket and gloves, always on. In order to lessen the risk of knee/butt scrapes, I'm now getting myself a pair of kevlar lined jeans from Draggin' Jeans. At least that way, only my feet will be exposed if I'm not fully kitted.
Imagine taking a dive and injuring yourself in the city when you have all the safety gear hanging in a cupboard at home. That would make you feel pretty dumb, wouldn't it?
in a city where travelling for a km takes you 15minutes,one doesnt really need a dsg or cramster jacket...a regular jacket is enough..and gloves,i use a leather pair.i even have a separate normal half face helmet and my all time ankle woodland shoes..for bumper to bumper traffic ,these gears are enough for me...as for touring,i wear my dsg nero, cramster trg2 gloves, axxo knee pads and a bhp racing helmet...I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL

I guess it's to each his own as always.
Just a point to ponder over though - if you advocate wearing 'a jacket' and using 'leather gloves' anyway, why not wear a proper jacket and riding gloves instead?

so its the choice of the biker to wear or not to wear whatever is safe for them...
here at xbhp we ourselves promote safe riding...and we all are smart and sensible people to know what to do and what not to do !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

i totally agree to u dude as far as a long or an mid-range distance ride is concerned (say 25+ kms.)
but if u r going just from one sector to another just to buy some stationary or clothes (for example), will u prefer putting on ur alpinestar jacket, gloves, knee guards, boots etc.?

unbearable heat dude..i might as well pass out while riding if i wear my nero in a bumper to bumper traffic.same goes with the bhp helmet.moreover i cant take them everywhere right?? like the movies or markets etc etc..and my trusty leather gloves saved me numerous times and i replace them whenever they are damaged....Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! this would be a debatable point actually...even riding at 60kmph an accident can occur and the attire which i described for my city needs may not be sufficient...but for me its enough according to my daily route and needs.
both sides are equally correct.however i would advice all to wear knee guards and elbow guards if you are wearing a normal jacket...and the helmet,be it a city one or a touring one should not be compromised..I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL

yes exactly...i cant wear my gear everytime i go to some social place or office and that too the whole routes are buzzing with smoking traffic and heat..i dont know if i am wrong but am not trying to send out any wrong signals to anyone.i would prefer a half face helmet,a light but sturdy material jacket, full shoes, leather full hand gloves and jeans(jeans save us a lot man )

You need gears then, I mean 'n' no of times you have crashed.<were you serious>?Originally posted by satan69in View Postand my trusty leather gloves saved me numerous times
So much gear and still a half face helmet. Even if I am going to drop someone a block away, i wear my full face on shorts & flip flops.Originally posted by satan69in View Post.i would prefer a half face helmet,a light but sturdy material jacket, full shoes, leather full hand gloves and jeans(jeans save us a lot man )
Would seriously advise you to get a full-face(not even a modular) for whatever kms or meters you ride.

seeing the number of people currently using..i guess the DSG Maze is the better option...i personally like the Rjays Swift but i heard people complaining about it in the rains...Originally posted by RISHIS View PostGuys I am going to buy Myself riding gears tomorow. lolz...naaah dude..just 2 times..but my friends are IDIOTS on their bikes...i make it a point to wear them when am on a two wheeler..they tend to fall off at 40 kmph tooOriginally posted by sheelpriye View PostYou need gears then, I mean 'n' no of times you have crashed.<were you serious>?

you mistook me...i just wear the leather gloves, jeans and half face helmet only in city (max 5 or 10kms) i cant bear the full face one.i suffer from claustrophobia if i dont get air when am in a full face helmet
and forget about air in city man,its just dust heat and grime and mud ..
however you are right about that full face helmet too...i completely agree.I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL
