What is lined up in round #2?
    Boots, riding pants/knee guards.

That ain't hot enough , head out to across the border. The sultry TN heat should give a real world test of the heat the boots generate.

Any pics of the overboots you are looking at?
Something like this Motorcycle Overboots, Overshoes, Boot Covers

Won't be too much of a compromise, its just a matter of getting used to.

Yeah, I know. Is why I said 'medium-hot'.
btw, did ride to Krishnagiri in the mid-day Sun. The boots fared better than I thought they would.
(I know K'giri is just across the border )

      Rahul aka Bluevolt uses these.
I for one, prefer a waterproof boot over this combo anyday. This one looks like a hassle for me.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Saar, its 'just' across the border. You need to go further than Krishnagiri.

Can you stand in water (below boots level) without water entering? Is it water proof in that aspect also? Might just consider water proof boot in that case so, water crossings become a breeze!

Aargee, Sunnyside_up! and others - I decided buy this one but large size is not available in any of the sites. Do you have any other to recommend?

I sweat more than others, wanted a jacket to commute as well as for touring. Please advise.

I suppose you are looking for a street boot?SMX2 is one of the best, they come in waterproof form too.If you are getting the non-water proof ver. then the fabric over boot is a good option, ive been looking for one myself!

                There you go-

Bluevolt - I finally washed my leather jackets and pants - in water! I was mulling over this for the last few months, but ultimately went ahead and did it since the gear had accumulated so much muck that it was beyond the scope of any other cleaning method. So here's what I did:

I took a bucket of warm water, put in a capful of dishwashing liquid (like Pril) and then dunked the jacket (then later pants) into it). I started rubbing the soiled portions very gently with a piece of cloth dipped into the same solution. The water changed color in no time due to a combination of the dye and the dirt, I dunked the garment in and out of the bucket for half a dozen times, and then started rinsing it with cold water till the water residue was clear in color.

When it comes to drying leather, patience is the key. It is better not to hang it, since the weight of the wet garment might cause de-shaping around the area where the hanger does its job. The best way is to lay it flat on the ground over an old towel, and also stuff keep some for-laundry clothes likes tees inside the garment to absorb the excess water. Keep it overnight, and after the jacket has become lighter, hang it on a hanger and dry under shade.

After a couple of days, the jacket/pants will be semi-dry, and now it is the time to apply leather conditioner. I used the Dainese leather conditioner on my jacket and Lexol on my pants. I first applied one coat of dressing, let it absorb overnight, and then applied the second and third coats on the succeeding nights. You have to keep doing this till the leather feels as soft and supple as it was before the wash. Three coats worked for me, but one might need more.

The conditioning step is crucial - if you wash your leather garments without intending to conditioning it afterwards, the washing will suck out out all the oils and will your leather dry and weaker which will ultimately result in a untimely decay/damage.

From US or India? From India, you can buy a mesh jacket from Bachoo Motors, Performance Racing Store or PlanetDSG.

If you're buying from India, call up these stores & they'll help you select one; if you're interested in Cramster & RJay's products, go to Velavan motors in Valasaravakkam, you can try the jackets over there & buy from them. I'm sure they're authorized to sell for Cramster, not sure about RJay's, you may want to check out the genuiness by visiting the store.

                    • Ordered a RJays Swift from Bachoo Motors. Waiting for it to be shipped. Thanks to the forum for helping me make the decision. Breezer 4.0, Eclipse and DSG Maze were close competitors but chose RJays because of it's larger presence compared to the other two.

How much? Did you order it directly from riders discount or did you ship it to someone in the US and he/she brought it to India? What about customs and stuff?

Haven't tried standing in water; but in the couple of rain-rides I did, I did happen to put my foot in potholes/depressions filled with water until ankle height, & the boot came out dry from within.
There is a layer of waterproof leather beneath the zipper, that prevents water from entering the boots. (Needless to say, the area of the boot all-around is waterproof)
Look at some videos of construction of waterproof boots, & that should give you some idea.
