If you want to have all other lightings, it is better to get the Avenger coil and RR unit. Cost around 1100 bucks. Else, if you can take out the brake light, pilot lights and console lights, you can run it on stock coil. This is what I had done - I replaced these lights with custom LEDs. But, from idle to 2k rpm, there was a dimming of the headlight. So, I converted my bike to all DC. Now headlight runs off battery. Since then, no problem with my bike. The 60/55 headlight glows at full brightness right off idle with the stock coil.Originally posted by undefineme3 View PostYour biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Installed 4300K slim ballast HID
Guys, I have bought a Slim ballast HID kit online (4300K, 35W, H4 Bi Xenon) from "www.ipmart.com". It was shipped from China and took 4 days. Installed it last weekend. Results are very satisfactory; plenty of light on the road and little or no glare to oncoming traffic. Color is more or less same as a Osram NB, so it would not attract much attention. 4300K (Daylight white) is highly recommended and throws more visible light on road. Since the ballast is slim, I could install it on my ZMA's fairing using only double sided tape and have hidden it between the walls of the fairing.
Earlier I had installed a 6000K HID bought in an auto parts store in Chennai. The kit comes in an aluminium box. The bulb on this kit was lengthier (the point source was more outwards) and so it caused much annoyance to other drivers as well as myself. The color on this one was diamond white but glare from its reflection was more than the useful light. I did not use it for more than 2 days.
How to distinguish between such not so genuine kits and genuine ones?
1. Check the bulb. It should have a black base with lock and unlock for the xenon bulb (as in the pic).
2. Check for CE & TUV marks on the ballast.
3. Check for indication on the color temperature on the bulb. It is usually a tag attached to the wire.
And after installing, the focussing needs to be adjusted and please make sure it does not cause discomfort to other drivers. Drive safe.
Here's a pic of the good kit.

I am standing on the side of the road, may be that is why the alignment seems off, moreover the beam is extended on the left side and the reflector seems to be designed so (correct me if I am wrongOriginally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostAlignment seems incorrect. Looks quite white - maybe it was just starting up. And video is not working.
