I want both filaments to glow all the time whn I use hi beam. Any disadvantages of doing this?
In fact, how to do this?
    I didn't know this.

If you mange to glow them both, it means that the power supplied is 35+35 = 70W. Now, will the coil be able to supply so much power? if yes, then why don't you just go for a Osram Silverstar 55/60W?

there's a thread running on DC wiring and stuff for Unicorn. That'd be of use oif you plan to do it.
@HydBiker: I wanted to check if this is true, Ravi might be able to help out on this one. So if one continuously presses the pass beam switch, the battery might drain quicker?

    • my ride's a zma, not unicorn.
i don't have any doubts on d coil's ability to take the load.

what i do doubt is how to achieve this setup, and what the life of the bulb and the reflector will be.

Boss, ZMA use direct power from battery, and I think it comes with 55/60 bulb already. So you can directly switch to OSARAM NB. Which definetly provide better light then the stock. BTW ZMA has 120watt magneto and that purly for battery charging purpose.

@all: Any idea for better lighting for my RTR, dont count HID for me. Any 35watt bulb that offer better lighting then the stock OSARAM 35/35?

          • No focus

            hi,
i got a classic pulsar headlight assembly fitted on my pulsar150 ug2... the problem was, with my old one(mask) there was very poor lighting and my reflectors were also gone... and as i was obsessed with the round naked doom, i went for it...

the problem i find is that, it throws out a lot of light... but there is no focus in the light... as of now i'm using some local 35w halogen bulb... i dont know if my reflector is bad or if my bulb is of not good quality...

what are my options here? if i need a bulb change, what type of bulb should i go for which would fit inside the classic assembly.

            thanks in advance

As far as I know, if the light is concentrated white, it will be outstanding in pitch darkness, but not necessarily through fogs. Something to do with the dispersion of light. Higher the concentration, lesser the penetration through fog. Just tends to disperse and does not penetrate through fog. I remember driving the car with high beam and the light would spread about 4 feet away from the car. The low beam did a better job, and the fog lamps did the best job.

                  • its right. u cant afford to touch the glass. Even the miniscule oil/grease in your finger print makes the glass life lesser at the high temp., at which the bulb operates. this goes for all halogen lamps like industrial, show lighting, etc. but that doesn't mean anyone cant do it. if you want optimal lamp life and performance, just avoid touching the glass part of the bulb. that's it! And yes, if you do so accidently, just wipe off the bulb with a clean cloth or soft fabric dipped in clean alcohol/spirit or any other similar element. No sweat! Chill guys, nothin to get all heated about. Ride Safe!

I am using this set up. Reflector is quite good. But you will need a 60/55 bulb. 35/35 will not work satisfactorily as the unit is not clear lens one. Beam spread is better than the stock pulsar unit.

does this require the coil to be changed? or can i run it on stock.. and where would it be available in chennai?

PS: i donot have any pilot lights and breake lights for the disc brake, does this decrease the consumption of battery?
