  • Philips Extreme Power

Today I just fitted a Philips Extreme Power with some minor changes to the stock electricals (Changed Tail light tp 10/5 Watt and Pilot lights to LED ).. I have to accept the the bulb is superb... I am getting 25-30% better illumination from my rest stock setup.

This is much better result when I tested a Osram night breaker on the same setup.

Both of these solutions should not cost more than 20 bucks, if you do it yourself, but the problem arises for the fact the battery will discharge faster than it charges. So if you night riding is less, you can go for either of the two mods but if your night riding is on the higher side, you will need to make a cutom rectifier so that there's enough charge for the battery.
But the Current going to HID relay fluctuates right and I had heard fluctuating current is not recommended for HIDs

A bridge rectifier, will also contain a 25V 1000uF Capacitor, which takes care of fluctuation, the relay is stays on even when the bike is idle, good enough to switch on the HID!!

BTW, I had run this setup for few days, and it works. And is a better option if your aren't interested in making a custom rectifier, this way only HID is on battery rest electrical remains on AC.

          • Head light bulbs for my Bullet

            Hi all,

I would like to ask you if i can use the halogen of 60/55w in Bullet.
Please note that i have Bullet STD 2009 model without self start.

Right now my head light has 35/35 bulb which is not upto the mark for
            highways.

Can i use 60/55w without any modification with the electricals or i
should better consider 40/45 halonix or Phillips H4 *3 pin* bulb
            55/60W?

I dont want any kinda modification to be done in electricals.

            Thanks,
            Manpreet

Changed to the Pilot Light to LEDs

Changed to the Tail Light bulb to 10/5 Watt from the Factory setup of 21/10 Watt.

As you have said that your stock headlamp wattage is 35/35W, putting in a 55/60W bulb won't solve your problem because your 55/60W bulb will work at 35W brightness, in some cases even worse. 40/45 Halonix would be better if you are not planning to rewind your coil, but I doubt if there would be any noticeable difference.

Having said that, you can try putting them, as it will be straight fit, and you may just have the placebo effect.

                  • I had a problem of battery drain with the HID directly connected to the battery. The HID would go off in less than 10 min. (thread)

I have now got a relay (cut-out) connected inbetween. No problem with the battery so far- running for almost 10 days now. I had planned and taken the 'before and after' pictures and I thought I could post it here:

Any body tried this on an old Bike? I have a Suzuki fiero. Is there a way to increase my Fiero's headlight beam?

rakesh.. hi dude.. Nowadays not finding enough time to hang around here...

I purchased HID from Babloo motors Vashi and it was fixed by a mechanic in the same premises. Together with new battery, relay, wiring and labour charges, it did cost me a bomb, though not as much as buying an original HID.

My bike is just fine, I had it bored out recently to fit a bigger piston and porting was also done. That too drilled a big hole in my pocket. Now my home minister has warned me of any more spendings on the bike

Yes! Its not just fun, its a lot, lot safe, esp. on highways or unfamiliar routes and during rains.

                                Should I go to Babloo?
Depends. Its not branded or original. No guarantee. Willing to take risk?
(It is in sector 17, anyone there can guide, or I can take you there)

Yes! You will get atleast 5% increase in power. And that awesome exhaust note.
