    Hello all!!

Even the low beam is causing glare. I will try to focus it low as you said.
BTW, what is a D2R type reflector?

Heck, I need more road presence... may be it is time to upgrade to a JCB or at least a lorry!
      Same feeling here.

      • If anyone in Chennai is looking for upgrading their headlamps to Nightbreaker(NB) or Philips Vision series, please check out the car dealers @General Patters Road, Behind LIC. I could easily find most fundoo bulbs and I bought my NB for 740 bucks.

Anyone using NB please help, is there a matching pilot lamp available? The OEM yellowish pilot lamp with a more whitish NB looks kinda weird.

A D2R type HID means you can use HID with reflectors.

A D2S type HID means you are supposed to use it with projectors only.

Well, yes, visibility surely drops in fog. There is hardly anything you can do about it except make yourself more visible for oncoming traffic.
Putting yellow lights will help in fog

Osram NB is way brighter than car stock bulbs, i ve tested with Swift n Santro's..

I don't think putting a higher wattage is a good idea. It might drain the battery quicker.
Pranay, can you tell me howmuch this halonix costs and any mod required to optimize the battery to adjust to it?
Also does this halonix bulbs provide kinda white color light instead of yellowish usual beam?

If your car bulb is a H4, it can be used on your RTR. Make sure that the wattage does not exceed what your bike's alternator can handle.

You can check the car dealers @ General Patters Road (GP Road), Behind LIC. Go for Osram Nightbreaker or Philips, also you could go through the previous posts on this thread, there is lot of information on different types of headlamps.

                        • Here is a data point that may be useful for some running avenger coils.

                          Osram Silver star +30% (150 bux) = Mico +30% (90 bux) almost = Osram 100/90 (80 bux).

The same is as tested for atleast 7000km (first two) and can tell you that upgrading to 100/90 without a better reflector isnt worth the effort (the last came with a relay upgrade).

Of course, its all as tested on my car - but can be useful all the same. Don't bother too much with fancier headlights - our Indian bikes are anyways slow enough.

The below quote was posted by Sksy on the older forum.
I haven't read all the pages for this topic but when i was reading the first page, i wanted to make a small correction on what Sksy_Biker has said about Bi-Xenon HID kits. Actually, a Bi-Xenon HID kit has a single bulb and not two bulbs.

Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting technology replaces the filament of the light bulb with Xenon gas. The gas is ignited to produce an arc of light when high voltage is applied - 23,000 Volts from the ballast operated by a 12V battery. The amount of light output is three times that of a standard halogen bulb yet only consumes half the power. The lamp also glows at a higher light temperature (closer to natural sunlight) which gives it its distinct color and appearance.

Coming back to Bi-Xenon, a true kit uses a magnet to actually shift the bulb forwards and backwards when you toggle between high-beam or low-beam. Non Bi-Xenon kits will either use 2 bulbs, one HID and one normal halogen bulb OR will only have a single beam - either high or low.

The best light by industry standards is the 6000K kit. It is bright white light and has a slight blue tinge at the bulb. Anything above 6000K does not produce very bright light. So with a 6000K kit, you are getting the best of both worlds.

If you are looking at a kit, look for the Philips kit that are now available in India - a single kit that includes the bulb and ballast costs about Rs. 4400 - 4800 and a dual kit costs Rs. 9800. This is a true Bi-xenon kit, pretty good and i believe it comes with a warranty. It is much better than the Bosch kit.

Also available are the cheaper Chinese imports, but i have no idea about their reliability.

I think the High beam is a bit off, but low beam is just soooooooooper.
