Get the stock filter.Do not buy free flow filters like K&n,Green etc,Its not going to improve your bike's performance, free flow filters without proper tuning will leads to overheating engine and will leads to early engine seizure.

Hey everyone. I have fitted a K&N RC 1060 in my Dio, and am looking at rejetting the engine now.
As far as I know, the Dio runs a Keihin carb. Can anyone tell me the stock jet size being used in the bike? Tried searching about it, but unfortunately did not hit upon anything. Also, if I rejet, what is the size of the jet I should be installing? And what would be its cost?

Lastly, what tunings or changes would I need to do after installing the new jet?

    Thanks in advance.

Exactly, this is happening bro.You are 100% right.

please!! help me solve the problem related to mah bike.....long back i installed K&N air filter in the air box on mah pulsar 220 DTS-FI was runnin good. recently a week back i removed the air box and directly installed the K&N air-filter on the carb intake(air intake pipe)...what i found tht my bike acceleration lagg btwn 4k-6k rpm initially after few KMS running it comes back to normal...and from last 2 days engine malfunction indication light is On...what do i do?? put back the K&N air filter like it was b4 in the air box???or need a servicing..and one more thing while running the engine stalls.....Its Fuel injected bike i guess the air fuel ratio will be corrected by ECU itself??....so many question at a time sorry.. but i need to solve the problem asap......
i dont have much idea about fuel injected bikes, so cant give u a expert opinion at all, but yes the bike stalling and bike lag are the signs of a lean or a very rich mixture. It cant be rich as there has been a increase in amount of air not fuel , so its a lean mix. Its better to use the filter inside the airbox or even better would be to use the stock filter. I would like to explain this as i have been through each and every problem a free flow filter gives.

First of all by using a free flow airfilter u wont even get a increase of .5 bhp without proper tuning. It may reduce the performance if the correct mixture is not set.

Even a free flow air filter along with a bigger carb or in ur case a tuned ecu hardly gives 1-1.5 bhp gains and believe me its nt worth the effort and money unless and until u have a bike which is tuned for ultimate performance , like the joelled ones.

A lean mixture on the long run may result into all this as was in my case. I was running a lean mixture for over 3 months and this is wat i got

    1. Burnt valves
    2. Burnt valve oil sealing
    3. A bad bore kit i.e the piston was gone

so this whole setup gave me a jhatka of rs 5k minimum, maybe more in ur case. I was getting a pathethic mileage of 19kmpl from my rtr after the valves were kaput.

It has been my strong observation tht people who install free flow filters feel they got more power just because of the grunty sound, but believe me its hypothetical, im sure u will get better performance with the stock filter at no cost.

I will anyday prefer a free flow exhaust too a free flow filter. Though i will get it on my bike but tht would be the last thing to be done.

    Peace
    cheers

hey dude wake up , who said u need a k&n to pop wheelies, its completely hypothetical, just read the above lines and u will get to knw what it is all about. In short

ffaf+perfect tuning= whoa! 1 bhp gain, loud sound

ffaf+ bad tuning (most common case)= loud sound + a sluggishly performing bike + low mileage+ high maintenance.

i think we cant use the new viscous air filter of new gen aviator/activa/dio
    in old models
old models have paper type or sponge one

and if wont pit due to size difference

    filter replacement

have the older gen honda aviator which came with paper air filter!
the odo reads 10k+ and is showing signs of air filter replacement!

the newer aviator has viscous air filter!and the paper air filter isn't in stock at my locality!

would like to know if it is possible to fit the viscous filter instead of the paper filter in the scooter?

use stock filter with air box, its best option.
If you want ff airfilter then try to use stock replacement filter.
(I'm recommending you to use air box, dont discard it.)
but if you've discarded it then try to cover up the openings of breather pipe(s) i guess you can use some cotton cloth..
