    @HarishK...
What ever you say,but I would never agree on your 'Handling' and 'Breaking' part.
RTR handles as gud as the FZ if not better & the breaks are light year ahead of FZ.Rest of the points,I do agree to some extent.Maintaince wise both are quite similar.
FZ-The best and most comfortable and beautiful street bike, good for touring and well. But with serious lag at mid range(Imagine over taking a truck at 70-80 kmph and you are stuck at a speed)
RTR ABS-Bike for some serious performance and fun.Good for city.Brilliant breaking abilities(hence more safe). Not comfortable for touring. Not a looker as FZ.

RTR 180 will be any time more torque and Top speed but if you say at 70-80kmoh you ain't left with any over take capability then FZ is like a mopped then!! People should throw away FZ in gutters!! FZ perfomrance wasn't an issue ever till 100kmph. Yes after 105kmph FZ starts lagging but it's absolutely VFM. You gets looks, comfort, city as well as tourer.

RTR is top speed and rear disc brake(ABS) only!! But still FZ has more market than RTR!!

average of both bikes are quite similar. but any person would like to go for FZ than RTR if it's not ABS!!

And handling part, somewhere RTR handling is not that great that a person can say FZ is null in front of it!

RTR ABS is anytime better than any bike in it's range!
Don't know why people have Apache as an image of only accelration and speed!!

Bro there is no "VS" stuff here, you pen down yours and others will pen down theirs, rest TS will decide !! so why to argument over each others views??

Correct!! but most of time people always go gaga of there fav or the bike they own & simply outclass other bikes

And to add "ABS" Experience here in blog I would like to tell you my today's incident... (Honest One)

Coming Home from Eastern Express Highway (MUMBAI), Was over 70+ after Crossing Sion Bridge there is a Work going on for some fly over or whatever I don't know, Traffic was moving at same speed...

And Then Suddenly a Meru CAB Came from nowhere Crossing the Road to take a U-Turn (Mor*n) Right, Beside Me on left side(Some Feet Ahead 15ft-20) Maruti 800 was running at same speed , he saw that Car & Brake hard & was able to stop easily but here is the main coarse come i saw it almost at the time when it was as close as a 3-4 seconds away... Brake Hard as hard as i can Speed reduced from 60 to under 30 with blink of eyes sound of tyre scratching & then ABS came in picture 3 Counter attack (I mean Lever Goes out of hand automatically,[Jerkin] as it shud in ABS Bikes) by Front Lever & one By Rear one & I Was Standing Straight almost 15-20 Inches Away from that Car Said Thanks to ABS Kissed my Bike & Went again ....

That Was a Moment i Felt a every milliseconds

          @ threadstarter

I have read many comments and counter comments here about FZ and RTR. My opinion on the bike I own (Fazer - Fz + Semi fairing)

          a)Very comfortable
b)Corners?? Isnt the road straight always when you own a fz!! No matter what the speed
          c)Smooth as silk

RTR 180 vs Fazer/FZ - No match. Dont Compare!

RTR 180 - Performance Bike.. Will rock on the highway
          Fazer/Fz will just cruise.

First decide you want a speed boat or a cruiser... Ever went on a cruise on a Catamaran. Its fast but stable.
On the other hand a RTR is a speed boat.. it rocks (literally).

Not everyone who owns a catamaran should have bought a speed boat. Not everyone who owns a speed boat should have bought a catamaran.

          What do you want!!?

I was also between pulsar 220 or a fazer. I chose a fazer (fulfills my requirements). Many xbhpians will call me a fool (have read fazer vs 220 thread here. But I never want to cross 100 k/h on a bike, Never went to SVC after second service, Warranty voided, No worries at all)

Plz. dont start 220 vs Fazer here.. Just an example

All speedlovers will ask everyone else to buy the highest bhp bike in the budget.. For them there is only one choice.

I think people who bought FZ have gone mad else who will pay a premium to buy a 153 cc Yamaha motor which will struggle at 70-80km/hr to overtake a truck. What a stupid thought!

I always maintained 100-110 km/hr with my less maintained 7 year old Fiero F2 and I very well know Yamaha FZ is very much than that.

Fools will say that Fz doesn't have any power.

When everyone agrees that Fz is more refined engine than RTR 180. Just feel like laughing when someone compares a 153 cc with 180 cc and that 153 cc still rules.

I will tell you close your eyes and buy FZ. I will challenge that RTR and Pulsars all get rotten in few years but FZ will stay strong as RX.

Fz is resurrected flagship vehicle of Yamaha. When FZ was born Yamaha got rebirth. That is FZ. What did RTR do to TVS nothing but added some style, same with pulsar good for nothing.

              FZ Rules...........

FZ is a good bike but plz dont show your fanboyism towards a particular brand. And plz dont drag pulsars in RTR vs FZ thread. People who buy RTRs and pulsar (though pulsar is now a variety of bikes) are not fools too. Come Pulsar 200NS and its a bike built to last. Learn to appreciate new mindblowing products. FZ is ok but nothing more than a commuter bike and if smoothness and refinement is what you want then Unicorn Dazzler is much much better product than FZ in those terms Peace.

                  @ jonahmano -
Agreed, FZ 0-100 is walk in the garden. Its after 100 when the garden become muddy.

Enjoyment is to ride at 100, slow down to 30 on anticipating an obstacle and again pick up to hundred.. All in the fifth gear.. Effortless cruising.

Sorry yaar, I'm speaking about janta. It's like when critics give negative reviews and the movie goes to become a blockbuster. I'm not supporting Yamaha brand here, I'm supporting the product FZ. Because the asker came here to compare and choose between a 153 cc bike with 180 cc, so some people did pit a unnecessarily against FZ so I wanted to clarify to them. No offence but your mouth spoke the reality that Pulsar had to take nearly 10 years to build a bike which can last, ha ha. I never said that Unicorn Dazzler is inferior to FZ, I even never talked about Unicorn.

                    Peace to you also

Ok that might be the reality but they started just some years back developing their own bikes so nothing bad in that And people who have taken good care and maintenance are even driving their classic first gen pulsars still now. I poked in Dazzler becz you were stressing about smoothness etc. Now finally pulsar with next gen is there but RTR still needs to build more. I dont mean to undermine Fz. Infact I consider Fazer to be one of the damn best looking bikes in the country. Have driven FZS and am well aware of how sweet handler it is.And by brand I mean FZ series brand not Yamaha brand Let the TS take the decision, we shall not press him for a particular product.

I agree on the flickability of the apache, being small and having short wheelbase helps. But apache corners better than fz? Lol... Only in your dreams.

I find no reason to give negative points about other person's bikes just give your pro's & con's about bike you own that's it .. let him Decide

                              mmmm......k...
I went through all the posts..
hey,guys...I'm going to pin point my needs.
No doubt,Apache and Fz are both good bikes...
but this is what i'm looking for..

                              1) mileage more than 45 kmpl
                              2) must be comfortable for a lady pillion rider..
                              3) looks,(t is subjective..i know)
                              4) excellent power...I'm mainly a city rider...dont think i'll be riding above 100 kmph....still 0 to 100 must be a very good experience.
                              5) my budget is 80000

and one more thing, does apache 160 give mileage upto 50 kmpl....some say,an rtr160 gives only a marginal increase in mileage over the rtr180...!
i called the tvs show room, there is only a difference of Rs.6000 between rtr160 and 180...so if 160 doesnt give more mileage,I would go for the rtr180 itself.

i rode a friend's rtr 180.....found it very exciting...but didnr ride a fz so far..so no comments about that.

guys I cant afford an ABS...so forget about that.
AND YEA....IT IS Fz-s i like more regardind looks, but fz has become a very common bike nowadys right?? didnt see the new apache much on he streets.
am not favoring the apache....u guys decide....thanks for all the help...

in that case FZ/RTR both are not really 45kmpl bikes, mainly depend on rides!! but yes by FZ you can fetch 45kmpl easily if you ride it sanely!! don't know why others's don't get??

RTR no doubt is fast compare to FZ torque too, but handling of both are same, mileage of both will be approx! don't know why, but it is!

                                OK ABS deleted........

Now i see you want a city kind of ride, where 45kmpl is main, Why don't you go with GS150r or P135, both are excellent average deliver!

Power in both are nice and can do 100kmph. affordable too.

and if you think of more affordable and nice bike then go for Dazzler it may be around 87k, CBZX/hunk and best one is SZr true VFM
