Ofcourse if someone is spending 76.5k, he can spend 82.5k for one time. Buying a bike is not a problem. The main expenditure comes in affording them. If you can live with a mileage of 35-40kmpl then go for RTR180 otherwise take the Apache160 home. 160 is not alot lesser than 180. Only tubeless tyres are one good feature. I would say use your bike for 10-15K and then change to tubeless tyres. You can live with the tube tyre. Thats not a big prob. Even rear disc is also not necessary with lesser power of RTR160.
    Whats there in a signature?

Spares for Apache 150/Fiero/Fiero FX are still available.
There won't be any problem for you. And remember, RTR is the flagship product for TVS, 160 or 180; spares will be available.
      You can go for either!

Can you get me the genuine front disc break pads of TVS fiero F2. My friend which I sold my bike wants it. I can give you extra 100 Rs after all the money you spent on buying it including courier charges. Just don't say anything that comes into your mouth. If you are owning an RTR 160 then it is good for you.

Dude, good braking is neccesary in all bikes,U may b riding at 70Kmph or 100 kmph.I would say, even the 100 CCs should have all discs.I hate people kissing my back at every stop. ..... it happens every time...
I would still suggest you to go with RTR180... Some more +ves about the 180,is the Longer wheelbase and fatter rear tires. If you can spend, then please spend and get the best. cheers

how much is the mileage of Apache rtr 160.....?

I was thinking that,it would be wise to choose the rtr180 IF THE RTR 160 ONLY GIVES AN ADDITIONAL 4 OR 5 KMPL AVERAGE above the rtr 180....

I can afford the rtr 180( non ABS) in my budget...but I'm really concerned with the mileage factor because Im purely a CITY RIDER...

Nothing much to concern bro, simply go with RTR 180, more or less the mileage will be the same. But you will get to the destination a lot faster.

There is nothing slow or fast here!! most of it both are very close to each other while riding!! Don't know why??

Mileage of RTR160 is much better then RTR 180.

              But i would suggest RTR 180 only 5-6kmpl doesn't make a difference much !!
When you have an option of RTR 180 over RTR 160 for few more "K" then why not??
Bike is our attitude so please go wisely!! Becuase this will be with you for at least 2-4 yrs or more!!!

Bumper to Bumper Traffic, will make all bikes move at the same pace. If there is room to do 60-70Kph zipping through traffic, then the RTR180 can do task pretty effortlessly when compared to the 160.

Also if the thread starter ends up with 180 I am sure he has noting to crib on, while he may crib upon seeing a 180 sitting on a 160. My dad works for the state govt and they give almost all TVS/Bajaj bikes. Looking at the mileage report of an RTR160 has no big difference to 180. Actually the cops who ride those RTRs are ignorant about 180 or 160, as per their papers both return a mileage between 45-50Kmpl. (I am not comparing 1 or 2 bikes, I am talking about the whole lot of over 150 bikes)

Note: I am sure a new RTR may give unbelievable mileage during run-in, my Apache 150 gave me 69KMPL consistently during run-in, my neighbor who purchased the same one along with me, reported a similar number. But still I follow the same riding style at 3.5K RPM and bike is well maintained, now the bike return between 55-60KMPL only

It doesn't pain to try. I shall see if I can source one this weekend.
If I find one, I shall send you a PM for the same. [Keep the extra 100 bucks with you, its not needed bro]
And I don't speak just anything that comes into my mind/mouth, I speak facts. Yamaha RX 100/135 spares are still available, a few Suzuki Samurai parts are still available and AFAIK, my school friend who still has a Fiero F2, has kept his bike in pristine condition and uses it for his daily commute to office.

                    P.S - I don't own a TVS product.

Go for RTR 180, you'll fall short by 3-4 kmpl under normal riding conditions.

Yes sir, you're right. Spare parts for those bikes are difficult to source.
More so with the fake ones in the market.
But fx/rx are no longer in production for quite a long time now.
                        Hence its justified.
But I was irked when someone said that the rtr may go off the shelves and spares won't be available. TVS recently upgraded the model. Hence, we can assume that the buyer is in safe hands for atleast 4-5 years.

The main reason I sold my TVS Fiero F2 because I was trying for simple break pads from two years and leave alone the stock ones, I even couldn't find the local mades. I got fed up with these TVS people. Last month before selling my bike, I had to buy metre cable and pinion assembly and when I approached a tvs spare point after searching three or four, that guy says that it is the last piece and he can't guarantee if it's working or not and I had to pay 400 Rupees for the defective part (both cable and assembly) and manage my metre reading (because the trip metre stops when it reaches 100).

When I speak of some company, don't think that I'm having a dig on it. It's real life experience and not like you people, just simply say spares are available to defend a manufacturer. There are so many RX-100's that even if Yamaha stops the spares, other locals can manufacture to profit themselves.

When you speak, speak something out or heart and not just mind.

PS: TVS Fiero F2 was a great bike, it served my 10s of thousand kms without giving trouble even a single time but sadly I sold it for the want of spares.
