Re: Choosing a Royal Enfield? Ask here...
You would have to cut the foam or modify the seat, any good seat maker will able to do it, or if you want a factory solution try the continental gt 650 seat, that is a few mm lower than the interceptors.Originally posted by Jaskalyan View Post

Can I change the rear shockers to a more gentle and pliant set up. Will the electra's gas chargers fit, or should I perhaps consider something more expensive. Willing to spend up to to 10k or a even a little bit more for a better ride. Please do note that I am 62 years old, with a little bit of a back issue, although otherwise in reaobably good shape. My desire is to ride across the Deccan plateau, along small roads and maybe even kutcha tracks and explore the countryside. Moderators, if there is a discussion on the bullet suspension somewhere please do direct me over. Thank
I am also looking for good suspension setup , electra's gas charged shocks are direct fit , and classic350's shocks are also a direct fit (According to R.E. Service Center folks) .
But since Classic 350 has 18 inch tires as opposed to 19 of 350 standard, I think with heavy pillion , tires would touch mudguard .
Anyways I am also looking to change them on my new Bullet X , and also have a ownership/mods thread ongoing ... you can follow that for updates and if you have already done something about it then I would love to hear about that as well !

Electra shocks should fit, and the ride quality they gave me since 2013 has been good.
Also changing tyres can affect ride quality, I use Michelin Sirac Street on electra UCE. They are bullet proof, zero punctures since 2018.
Ride quality is better now, and they are more confident on curvy roads too.

Congratulations on booking one! My tentative delivery date was Dec 7th, but I'm scared RE showroom folks will throw their usual tantrums by allotting my bike to someone else who booked the bike on a later date.
Cheers!

Got a call from RE showroom that bike has arrived the yard. Sales guy requested me to pay the amount to start the RTO procedures, so paid the full amount today. Bike will be arriving the showroom tomorrow morning, will go and visit the bike in person once it has arrived. Tentative delivery date is Dec 2nd. Hope the newly forming monsoon won't play any spoil sport. Fingers crossed!Originally posted by travelguy View PostRe: Choosing a Royal Enfield? Ask here...

I have also booked mine (RE - Meteor) on 28 November and the estimated delivery is in Feb 21. Guess I have to wait for a long time. Any suggestions as to how I can speed it up? Are there any communications on status of booking that is made by RE on a periodic basis? Or do they just contact only when the bike is ready for delivery.
Thanks

Hi, it's my first post here, though have been reading the boards here for years.
I was looking for some insights into the delivery process by the RE dealerships.
I recently booked my Himalayan about 2 weeks ago. Due to the prevailing circumstances, it was only possible for me to take the delivery of the bike in the next month. So, while I knew the wait times for the Himalayan have been extensively long, I requested the dealer to see if he can do something to deliver it within 4 weeks. He said there was a way, and he would notify the company, and they will let him know if any of the nearby dealerships had a bike and then that bike would be transferred to him.
Now, two weeks later, he has got the bike. His explanation for this availability is that the company sends bikes in random colors at times, and then some of the colors aren't picked up, so they are available for longer, and hence he was able to get this bike from a nearby dealership.
My main concern here is that I do not want a bike that has been rejected due to performance issues or any other defects. He says the manufacturing of the bike is in early December and after it was delivered it has been in the initial dealership.
I was wondering if anyone here with some inside knowledge can shed some light on if what he says makes sense. Is the process of allotment and delivery of the bikes by RE random at times? Also, is it probable that one of the colors hasn't been in demand for about a month? Also, would you say it is probable that the bike is completely fine and doesn't have issues? Are there any precautions or checks you would suggest I take before taking the delivery?
Season's greetings, and tHanks in advance.
