    Guys, I need some gyaan here. I have a soft spot for diesel bullets, and I wish to buy one just to enjoy the sound and smell of a diesel at 6 am.

    I understand the Enfield Diesel is out of production, but the prices of the diesel bullets just keep increasing!

    Diesel bulleteers, what should be the price of a well maintained Diesel Bullet? Are there any problems with cops?

    Are there any good Diesel Bullet mechanics in South India?

      Hi.my classic 350 has clocked 22K kms and is 2 years,5 months old. My battery has drai ed out and the mechanic said the topped up battery will not last more than 2 months. So i will have to get it replaced it with a newer one. So my mechanic suggested me to go for dry cell battery than the conventional acid type. But he is not sure which company has the bullet compatible product. Anybody has changed from acid type to dry cell ?please share the details if you have.

        hi all , I recently accquired a bull(STD 1990). Its great to drive around but when i do decent speeds and in heavy traffic the engine stops while idling and refuses to start again. I noticed laughing sound from the engine (literally). But after the engine cools down it starts again and no issues. This happens almost all the time except during nights and if i maintain my speed as low as possible. When checked with a mechanic he said " the valve seizes, its not a issues unless you ride long distances ", But i would like to get it fixed. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

            Upgrade from 100 cc, Weekly rides and daily commute (20+ kms). Ready to get hands and bike dirty .

            Any suggestions to keep it in good condition, please.

              Clean and lube your chain every 300-400 kms, adjust your chain based on the slack level every 1000 or so kms, use the recommended fuel and engine oil. Check your engine oil nature and level every 2000-3000 kms. Keep the right tyre pressure based on your body weight or recommended levels by the manufacturer. Get your bike serviced on time. Try and use good quality fuel at all times. Avoid unnecessary high revving of the engine and be gentle on the clutch as well. If you follow this, you can keep running your bike for a long time, without issues.

                Guys, planning to sell my Pulsar which I use for daily commutes and was inclined towards going for an RE 350 (grey- New color). I am in love with the color. It makes it look quite vintage but still maintains its contemporary look for youngsters.

                Now the reason for me to write here is that earlier I had a Thunderbird 500 and my experience with it was not so pleasant especially on rides from saying Mumbai to Goa and back. Mumbai to Belgaum and back. Mumbai to Ahmedabad etc..Now the bike was maintained properly and it never gave me any problem during my daily usage. But everytime I went for such rides I have faced problems. Slack in the Chain..Saaree guard falling off..Pannels falling off and what not. Unlimited times have my tires given up and pushing it is not easy (unless you have a fellow rider and a rope to pull you) especially given all the weight with the saddlebags, etc.
                But this was quite a few years back.

                Except for the RE Himalayan which I had for an interim of 3 months and was impressed with it, but I did not like it as much for city commutes felt a little huge to maneuver in the city. Since then I have not had an experience of the Royale Enfield and am a little apprehensive about going for an RE due to my experience. Any idea if RE has worked on its quality of screws and fitting and especially the toolkit (which was way too substandard. It was entirely rusted and fell into pieces the first time I went to open the side panel to get the toolkit.)

                Other than that I like riding the RE, but just this little niggles in the bike make me rethink. Not in a hurry to pick it up but quite soon I need to buy one.

                  Would urge against the RE, quality is still bad. If you like cruisers, see the Avenger 220

                    I can't speak to RE quality specifically, but any bike that exhibits significant vibration has aspects to maintenance that smoother bikes do not. Further, when you're planning a longer ride, there are things you should do no matter what. Always check and tighten bolts/nuts, double-check your chain *and* the chain adjusters. Lube the chain, check tire pressure and tire condition.

                    Many of these things are items you should do regularly (maybe on a weekly basis) anyway. And you also bring up an important point: you should check the toolkit regularly. It hides behind some panel or under the seat, exposed to moisture and dirt, without being touched sometimes for years. You should be pulling it out at least once a month, making sure all the tools are clean, and putting a light coat of oil on them. Better yet, since the vast majority of manufacturers just supply a basic and very cheap set of tools, swap them out for good-quality equivalents. That way, they'll be usable when you really need them on an empty back road some dark night.

                      I have a 2015 RE classic 500 Desert Storm and she has never let me down, even after my daily abuse. I do office commutes only (50km up and 50km down), and she has performed as I have expected her to be. RE has steadily refined and improved the reliability and quality aspect over the years, though it will not be in the same league as other manufacturers. If you have to ask I would say get a FZ25 or CBR250 or even Dominar if you want a fill it forget it type experience.

                      This was my first ride and I have already had more than 15 falls till date. I ride with all the gears so no scratches, but my ride is all bruised and battered now, but still going strong after all this abuse. The good thing about being mostly metal is that you can bend it back to shape so the cost I have encountered is pretty less compared to what I would have had to shell out other wise. So there you have it, if you want to play demolition derby RE is the better option. You have better options for everything else.

                      I am not a sedate rider and I rev it above legal speeds in 4th gear on my daily high way commute, so I have had more breakages and issues than most, but I consider it as a downside of my abuse.

                      List of issues;
                      Broken horn brackets.
                      Thrice changed the batteries (I had put aux lights and I guess there was earthing issue, I have removed those ow)
                      Broken rectifier plates (under seat)
                      lost battery cover
                      Changed chain and rear sprocket twice (I used to lot of engine braking, many times locking the rear wheels)
                      the Fuel indicator is kaput, so I went dry twice, so had to push close to a km (Im stupid)
                      I have avenger mirrors and once it sheared off from stalk due to vibrations

                      But never has she failed to start in the morning, there was a period of close to 3months, when I could not use E start as battery was having issues, but Iwould take her to work with kick start.

                      All in all it is like a fountain pen or analogue watch in this digital age. You get one if that is what floats your boat, but if you have to ask there are way better options.

                        3) I don't have any problem on cost on service, but would love to know how often does RE needs to be serviced? Since I drive about 1800-2000kms per month
                        4) Why do people recommend Classics over Thunderbirds?

                        Hi there bro, juat go for THUNDERBIRD , I qm having 2010 model and i am still loving it. My experience with RE is " with patience you will love it for ever" . Best bike from RE stable to ride.

The senior sales officer very politely and gently explained to me about the special features regarding Gun Metal Grey 350. And he explained to me about the features, technical specifications, advantages, new technologies incorporated into the bike etc. for almost one and a half hours. And he even offered me a test drive on a normal classic 350 of lagoon blue colour. The visit to the showroom was a wonderful, lovely experience. Is Gun Metal Grey 350 a good choice ? What is your opinion regarding this motorbike ? Currently, I ride a 2010 model Hero Honda cd-dawn. Warm regards.

                            I wouldn't really suggest you to go for RE unless you're a die hard enthusiast. I know a lot of people who bought a royal enfield just for the looks and the sound and dumped it soon after realizing that hard reality that it was not their kind of motorcycle. Moreover, all over kerala, bullets are like stray dogs now (no offense) in numbers. I'm stating this again, please don't go for the bullet unless you are very sure about it. These bulls are not easy on the pockets either. Always test ride other motorcycles before zeroing in on one. Seeing that you're a hh owner, I'd suggest you to try the suzuki gixxer which is a pretty neat bike in terms of city usage and long distance commuting too. And it definitely won't burn a hole in your pocket.
                            P.S. Petrol price is 80/L as of today.

                              Hi,

                              Can someone kindly help me with my dilemma.
                              I am looking for a new bike and the budget is 1.8 lakh rupees.
                              I have zeroed in on 3 bikes classic gun metal grey, Himalayan bs4 and dominar 400.
                              I have test ridden all these bikes several times. Ride quality that I found during test ride was in the following order Himalayan>>Gunmetal>>Dominar.Himalayan actually blows the competition out of the water in ride quality.It is superb.

                              I am inclined towards Gunmetal grey and Himalayan but my only issue is with reliability.In gun metal grey I have seen rear disc brakes getting locked.In Himalayan people are not happy with BS4 variant. Dominar on other hand is not my type of bike but it is reliable.

                              Are these issues in RE because of manufacturing or improper service .

                              I am 5ft10.My weight is 76 kgs.I can cruise on 60-80km/hr happily.I don't like to rev the engine. I don't like to cruise in triple digits as it will rob me of the sceneries 😀.

                              Kindly suggest me a bike.
