JD Power presented the two-wheeler customer service index, carefully studying the results considered from 7,436 buyers living in 45 different cities of India. The survey includes buyers who made a purchase during November 2015 and March 2017, further having at least one visit to the service center i...

RE comes second in 2018 JD Power 2 wheeler customer satisfaction survey. Posting this link here because whenever someone asks "should I buy a RE", a hundred guys would be like "nooo do you want eternal suffering and damnation?". The situation on ground is different. Even if RE is second and Bajaj is last only 9 points out of 1000 differentiates these two. TVS is ahead of all else.

      • Waiting period for Interceptor 650

        Hey Guys,
Planning to buy Enfield Interceptor 650, I live in Tumkur, they say waiting here is around 3-4 months, do you suggest I go to Banglore for a quicker delivery? I feel there won't be a difference as the volume of bookings in any Banglore showroom is going to be tremendous.
So seasoned xbhpians please give me your valuable feedback.

        P. S: my first reply to a thread, let me know if I screwed something up.
        Thanks

Rear fog lamps do play a vital role in road safety specially in low visibility Conditions like fog, rain etc. Searched a lot but didn't get anthing like the one I showcased in the video.

It becomes very hard to find a mechanic while we ride to remote areas of our country like spiti and laddakh and sometimes it becomes inevitable to do some repairs ourselves.

This video is all about uninstalling rear tire of Royal Enfield Himalyan ABS and reinstalling it back. I hope this video would end up being usefull to all the riders.

Now a days it's not hard for thieves to steal any motorcycle in the market They simply pick/break the lock and bypass the ignition and run away with your beloved motorcycle.
It's tried to make it hard for thieves to steal your motorcycle by confusing them and wasting their time which might end up protecting your motorcycle from theft as thieves don't have previledge of unlimited time while trying steal anything.

          • Re: Choosing a Royal Enfield? Ask here...

            Hello all,

I am planning to buy RE Himalayan. I went to Whitefield showroom in Bangalore during the week of Diwali and got a quote of 2.32 for Sleet.
I went home, took couple of weeks to get my ducks in a row, and when I went back to the showroom (in the week when 650 twins were launched) they are now quoting me 2.35 for Sleet.

I asked them what happened, and they just said prices changed.

Its just 1% increase, but is it fair? How do I negotiate with them on the final price?

Its the 1st time I am buying a bike on my own. Would really appreciate any suggestions or pointers.

                Hello folks,

My first post here! So please be gentle if I am sounding dumb

Want to get back on a bike after perhaps 10 long years. To be honest none of the bikes I have seen videos of interest me except the classic ones - the new Jawa & Enfields.

Want to start taking test rides of the Enfields. Which model(s) would you all suggest for someone getting back to the groove? Would the Interceptor be too much for me after such a long break?

Don't think I am bent upon or dependent on using this to commute to office daily, just want to enjoy biking whenever I use it.

Apologies if this is too little information, but appreciate any early thoughts.

                  Welcome to the community brother!

If I read you correctly, this is more of a passion than practicality based decision? If so then go for it. Every bike will have a learning curve and so will the interceptor. Fortunately the 650 interceptor is not a 650 ninja so there will be no sudden frantic acceleration to take you by surprise. From all accounts it has a very linear response. Further its one of the best from the RE stable so if the budget is right I think you would enjoy it more than its bullet brethren.

Could you buy easier to ride, more practical bikes? Sure you could. But I think here the right question is, would you be able to love them as you would an interceptor?

Thanks brother!! And yes you got that absolutely correct - it's more passion that practicality.

Having said that I was going through the Himalayan ownership thread and boy!! Doesn't RE expect crazy amount of technical know how from its customers. I guess lots of DIY / figure it yourself expected if something fails. Hope that's not a deal breaker for someone like me who's been off motorcycling for a while..

RE has a history of niggly bikes. Some call it "character" but to each his own . That said the 650 twins are the best of the bunch it seems so far. Haven't heard any horror stories there yet. But yes usually RE requires third party (local garage) support for the best ownership experience. The 650 and Himalayan don't have anywhere near the level of 3rd party support the bullets do. If this is a major concern then I don't know what to tell you. But all said and done, I'd just buy it and not think too much about it. With REs, the more time you spend thinking, the scarier it seems. But do consider that the support will probably be more available and cheaper than any other supplier of retro bikes (HD, Triumph etc.)

Thanks! Had the same dilemma when I bought a car from Fiat stable too! I have it now for 10 years, and it's been an amazing experience! So will.just go and book an Enfield, just want to figure out if its the interceptor or something else.

Would anyone know which would be an ideal Enfield showroom in Mumbai?

Took a test ride of the following:

                          1. Jawa
                          2. Interceptor
                          3. Continue GT

Oh boy, the 650 twins are a league apart and for less than a lac!

                          1. Surprisingly, Continue GT posture isn't bad at all. Was really apprehensive but for my height (5' 10") though not very upright, was fairly comfortable.
                          2. Felt a little vibration on the Conti vs the Interceptor. Maybe just this bike.
                          3. Rode in traffic with multiple signals, but not even once did I feel that the foot peg was coming in the way when I was planting my leg on the ground.
                          4. Felt minor heat inside of my thighs only on the Interceptor, mostly from the tank. Not sure why.

And for someone who's driving a bike after a decade, thev650 twins felt more comfortable than the Jawa.

                          Finally,
                          1. 8-9 months waiting for Jawa
                          2. 2-2.5 months for the 650 twins

Dilemma is now tonde use between the Interceptor or the Continental GT.

From my perspective, it'll be the Interceptor. It's got the modern vintage charm that the GT doesn't.

But then again, it's just my perspective of things.

Height issue comes when you're thinking of purchasing bikes where the seat heights are 850+. In the case of RE, the seat height will be 800. And on top of that, the suspension also plays a role, such as REH, where the whole bike lowers down a bit once you sit, cause the suspension is that good.

So, yeah, it'll be very much suitable for you brother!

                                Hey guys,

I already own a Bullet 350 but I want to get one of the ABS ones because, well, better brakes. I am developing a pain in my right foot due to the strain. I use my bike for daily commutes and cruises.

The twins don't make sense in the city (unless someone here can prove otherwise. If so, what about the Interceptor?).

My logical upgrade seems to be the Bullet 500 but I am in two minds. I keep reading about engine problems here.

Thanks in advance for your inputs!
