Buddy, out of hundreds of 'new' TB 350/500 bookings in Pune, only a few were fortunate enough to get a TR (no TR vehicles available anywhere except one showroom which noone was aware of...). Wasn't the case same for Duke too !? But still many went ahead with the flow, booked and riding happily thereafter... people definitely know where to trust and where not...Originally posted by somen1984 View Post

guyz although i have booked TB500.because i loved the torque.but my major riding would be office commute(Solo)-20kms/day.as of now will not be doing any touring ever.because of which thinking of shifting booking to TB350.have only test driven TB500.so dont know whether both will have the same fun factor for city riding.
is TB 500 only for city driving an overkill?(price diff is 40k but i m willing to shell out if its more fun and lesser headache in terms of maint.)
please advice how much average to expect from both bikes?
I am 5'7,75 kgs.
please advice.

First and foremost any RE models are not good for city ever!!Originally posted by demon_speeding View Postguyz although i have booked TB500.because i loved the torque.but my major riding would be office commute(Solo)-20kms/day.as of now will not be doing any touring ever.because of which thinking of shifting booking to TB350.have only test driven TB500.so dont know whether both will have the same fun factor for city riding.

Second if you don't wanna tour then really no use buying any RE models.
TB500 has same torque/ power as CL500 has.
TBTS350 is also a tourer bike.
If still you want to buy a RE for city use then it should be Electra/STD/CL350 only!!! no TBTS or 500cc.
Handling TBTS/TB would be an issue in city!! In city you won't enjoy the fun factor of any 500cc RE models!! think again on your booking. For daily use there should be some better bikes then RE, which should be easily maneuver in city traffic and use.
Maintenance wise RE is more on time and pocket compare to other bikes!!

By your comments you mean to say those who ride an RE in city are shitheads who know nothing about biking ???
Dude its a question of choice and love. Secondly no bike is impossible to ride in city. FYI there is man who rides his Busa to work almost everyday in Mumbai city.
If I may had to follow your recommendations I would have ended up buying the following bikes :-
1. Splendor - City riding
2. RE - Touring
3. R15 - When I feel like cornering.
You never buy a bike thinking u may tour or not. Let the chap get an RE if he so likes it. He may end up doing long rides on it in a later stage.
@ TS :- My advice, test ride the bikes you like and go for what your heart says. Although keep your budget focused and try the bikes available in that segment. After all you do not change your bike often, so you have to love what you buy.

If a person has fallen in love with RE, he won't look to other bikes. Like I used to say, there are a lot of people in my own locality who use a Bullet to ride around in city. Bullets are only meant for those who have a great passion towards them.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostFirst and foremost any RE models are not good for city ever!!

I hope you do know about the maintenance that you have to do when you buy a RE, doesn't matter which model you buy. Like I mentioned above, if you are really passionate about RE, you'll love the ride.Originally posted by ceebeer View PostHi guys, planning to buy RE.Which model is the best currently, as i do not know much about RE.I would be mainly using for city use.
Budget and mileage is not of any concern.Which model has less niggles?
Thanks

Every bike by design has a meaning where to be used, so we have so many models. Using RE is all about passion, But RE is not all for city riding. If you have brough it then you have to use it.Originally posted by xstunter View PostBy your comments you mean to say those who ride an RE in city are shitheads who know nothing about biking ???
Every true!! All bike can be used where ever we want, But that doesn't means that it's made for that stuff!! I have many friends one rides HD 48 in city, after 1 yr now he feels it's not at all for city, where as comfort is top notch!! He brought a Duke now.Originally posted by xstunter View PostDude its a question of choice and love. Secondly no bike is impossible to ride in city. Other is a TBTS user, rides it in City after 7 months he is riding Pulsar again.
RE was never made for a city crowd!! It is for touring and riding some rural roads.
But yes it's inidividuals choice which he has to buy!! Some buy by need and some buy by choice!!
If you follow the above then you will be the happiset person. I do daily R15 rides highway + city, that doesn't makes it city bike. I will always vote R15 for highways or cornering or some tours.Originally posted by xstunter View PostIf I may had to follow your recommendations I would have ended up buying the following bikes :-

Wrong!! You have to purchase it with this thoughts, Else you will ride all good performance bikes in city only, where as they are more then required, more money invested.Originally posted by xstunter View PostYou never buy a bike thinking u may tour or not.
Correct Let him decide, we can only suggest!!Originally posted by xstunter View PostLet the chap get an RE if he so likes it. He may end up doing long rides on it in a later stage.
Yes if this happens then it's best and RE will be used to it's true purpose.
This feeling comes by need not by choice!!Originally posted by xstunter View Post@ TS :- My advice, test ride the bikes you like and go for what your heart says. But any RE lover is a lover, he won't ask or tell, he will just buy it and say Hello I am a RE owner Model XYZ !!

The choosing of royals
Hello my biker brothers,
i been a bike enthusiast since a long time its in my dna too likewise yours. I currently own a hh glamour 2008 model and i think its high time to upgrade to a cruiser bikes. I been surfing the nooks and corners of every available website looking for information on cruiser, commuter, sports, offroad bikes but looking at my need for touring i prefer a cruiser. I found all the models of pulsars, hondas, yamahas to be tempting but finally [not to offend anyone] i had my conscience telling me all these glamsham bikes are plastic go for a bull and finally i come here before you my biker bros please help me choose whether i should be going for a bull 350 electra twinspark, 350tbts, or just the 350. Also i would highly appreciate if anyone of you could throw some light on the price tags these bulls carry in thane [ambernath]
i await your valuable suggestion

RE is a heavy bike, handling is also different as compare to other commuter bikes. For city actually any 150cc would be more than sufficient.Originally posted by ceebeer View PostHi guys, planning to buy RE.Which model is the best currently, as i do not know much about RE.I would be mainly using for city use.

But if you are still into buying RE for city, then personally Electra is way comfortable compare to CL.
All models are the same in maintenance and niggles, But compare to earlier UCE engines are now better. Though there are few niggles. You can't buy and forget this bike, you have to keep well hands on this bike to have a good relation.
why you think other bikes are plastic ?? I can show you many people who are still riding HH CD 100 1980's models.Originally posted by BENOY.NAIR76 View PostI been surfing the nooks and corners of every available website looking for information on cruiser, commuter, sports, offroad bikes but looking at my need for touring i prefer a cruiser. Can you please explain why it's a platic for other models as compare to RE ?
Why don't you ask the showroom in Ulashnager, it will hardly take 30 mins to reach there and get your finance and price queries from RE showroom Ulashnagar??Originally posted by BENOY.NAIR76 View Postgo for a bull and finally i come here before you my biker bros please help me choose whether i should be going for a bull 350 electra twinspark, 350tbts, or just the 350. TBTS/TB and other models of RE are designed for their defferent purpose.
TBTS is for touring specially more than a city. STD/Electra/CL are for city ride also.
TBTS is not that great for city handling, where as other models are ok with city handling.
TBTS is way comfortable then any RE models while touring or cruising..
Actually none of the RE is for city due to it's bulky and heavy weight. But it's nothing that you ride it in city. All bikes can be ridden in city but not that effeciently as other 150 or 100 cc does.

Guys,
I have booked TB350 last week and the dealer said i can get it before december 12 as my birthday was on 12.
I have crush on TB500 too. But my purpose are city driving daily like 40km a day. Some times more than 60km a day. And i do touring rare like once in two months.
And I also need mileage atleast 30+ in city driving. Whether tb350 is right choice or shall i move to tb500?
Which suits me in these two tb350 and tb500Are you an Royal Enfiled Fan then join this forum Royal Enfield Forum

I Suggest you to book TB350 since both are the same except the engine and as you would use it for commuting more than touring it will save money spent on fuel.Originally posted by forumhookers View PostBut my purpose are city driving daily like 40km a day. Some times more than 60km a day
Moreover you cant expect 30+ with Tb500 and it is an overkill for city riding.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster
