  • Re: Choosing a Royal Enfield? Ask here...

    I have a question.

If Royal Enfield Classic and Thunderbird will be available with single-channel ABS soon, and Himalayan with dual-channel ABS., 650 by april, 2019 , then will they discontinue bullet 350 ES model?

Will they introduce tubeless tyres in all the models?

RE is always the backbencher in case of technology.

          The background:
I owned the Himalayan for almost 1.5 years. Met with an accident (partly my bad on taking a turn) and got my right hand injured, recovered now. Sold that few months back as it was way tough for my wife to sit and get down. Especially with a baby, it's not easy for them.

          Current state:
My daily office commute is less than 20kms within city (2 ways). I need a proper bike to have a balanced and comfortable ride stance, hence considering RE again. I'm 6ft weighing 90kgs..

Now I'm planning to buy another bike and was almost settled for ES350 (Electra) mainly for the long, brod single seat it offered.

Though I liked the classic 350 gun metal for it's wider Tyre and double disc, the split seats are a sure no no for me.

          Here comes the dilemma:
The owner of showroom suggested me to get the Classic 350 and he can arrange to switch it's seat with that if Electra's.

Here is where I need your expert opinion.. please help me.

          1. Is Dual disk much safer than Disc+ Drum combo?

          2. Will there be any problem in modifying classic 350's seat with Electra's seat?

          3. With such modified seat, will there be any posture / back pain problem?

          4. Between these 2 are there any vibration problem more in either?

          4. In nut shell, should I go for As is Electra 350 and miss the rear disk brake or should I consider brand new classic 350 and modify the seat into the single, long one from Electra?.

Get classic and later on you can get custom made single seat for your bike, a lot of custom seat makers are there for Royal Enfield. Royal Enfield is exceptional about one thing that it's a clean canvas for mods. You can check my video for seat modification as well, which has contact details of Khajanchi(the famous seat maker for RE).

Thank you Vivek.. can you please provide the video link?
Also apart from ease of customization, the driving posture & comfort wouldn't be impacted right?

Thanks brother.. I was curious about such an early delivery (less than a week).. is there anything I should watch out for on the bike I will be getting? Still not convinced how one of the most selling bike, with 40 days booking period is being delivered in such a short span ..

The reason given by showroom is, owing to high demand, they make extra orders and this is one such bike....

Check the bike for scratches or any paint job, any possible dent removal, other than that check the penal gaps on side boxes and do check for pulling too. Other than that just follow regular PDI list.
