    p22o or karisma?
    hello guys.....

please dont forget the time when Bajaj released Pulsar and how has it been taken in market..when Bajaj release they know to keep the product rocking.Im a huge fan of pulsar.Pulsar gives you the thrill you need in a segment where you ride, for eg: be it p150 or p180 or p200.they give you the answer in its class.i ve already booked the new p220 dtsi and im just waiting for the diwali offer(if any).thats all. in 220cc market its only BAJAJ PULSAR rules.i mean till now.
Karisma is of course good enough.can be taken if u dont wanna look like PULSAR "CROWS".pulsar has become like crows.you can find everywhere.
I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

I own a P220 Curb.. Done around 3k kms till date..

Highway and high speed mileage is really attractive.. Its returning more than 45+ while riding between 90 / 100 / 110.. Bad thing is, I am getting 18 / 20 / 25 kmpl while at local riding (stop n go, u know, general commuting)..
          Catch me @ Orkut..

Great to know that you r getting 45 on highways.Even i have booked for a new P220DTSi. Currently i own pulsar classic 180.I am in bangalore and it used to return mileage of 30kmpl until i referred this site and learned how to ride in city, u should not use clutch very often. Change the gear to higher one only if you see that there is some distance you can cover in that gear. Hope this increases your mileage too.Just let me know. BTW currently i am getting 42kmpl

Go for ZMR dude..no one can doubt it's touring capability and power. It's tried and trusted. P220 is more of power and only power.

As of now, both of the bikes you are mentioning are new in the market. Still you quickly mark one as tried and trusted, while the other is snubbed.

The thing is both bikes are based on their predecessor. ZMA has a name for being reliable. P220FI has a name for being somewhat moody, even though there's very few people who have issues today.

Now consider this, ZMR adds a lot of high tech to the engine, thus creating plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong. I'm not saying it will, just consider it. Compare with the bike you just snubbed, it actually take complexity away. Bringing it closer to the state of the ZMA. Again, no guarantee it will be more reliable, there's still plenty of things that can go wrong.

                    The point of all this?
I am wondering: Why are people here judging a bike and other bikes in the process, before these bikes have had any time to prove themselves? Also, there seems to be a certain bias from some people, who without providing any reasoning seem to be having all the answers.

+1. And this bias seems to be very strong in certain members. This is the root cause of all brand wars.

It would be much better if members post only from personal experiences.

One small thing about buying a bike,

Ride it > Like it > Buy it > Live with it.

Its not like choosing a P220 is bad, it will be around for a while, spares are available. ZMR will also be around, spares would be available.

Neither PGM Fi, nor DTS-i, DTS-Fi, Oil Cooled, REAR disc brake blah blah blah would matter if you actually like the bike. No point in buying a bike that you dont like to ride. A Bike isn't like some perishable thing that you change in a month.

Take a bike from someone else and ride it / or ask for a test ride (say that you'll pay more just to see how its like, ride a while longer)

Buy the one you like the most after you've ridden it, don't ask anyone else, and just start riding.

Oh and another pointer, treat your bike as if she's your wife. Now you dont marry someone going by their features right ? You just fall in love with them Think of the same way about your bike.

@all, kindly don't bash a bike from a maker if its not an engineered failure (some bikes were born to fail ) I know that none of you who say this is bad or that is bad actually have ridden it on a long tour/ abused it/ had it for a loong time. Just going by in general views like sheep isnt called a bike review / suggestion.

                            I'm done

                              ^^^^+1 Completely agree.
Dude you need to like the bike and then it doesnt matter whatever anyone says about the bike.
If you like it and love it you will always see good things about it. Moreover every 3-6 months some new bikes will be launched. Its a business for companies if you waste on your time arguing and collecting information...you are wasting your precious time which you could have spend riding ur love.

Let me quote my incident when i was about to buy my bike people were like wait for P200 and all, but i needed a bike..it was necessity. Just went to 2 showrooms HH and Bajaj, checked CBZ, P150 & P180 and thats it finalized P180 UGIII in 5 hours.

And to tell you this bike never disappointed me. I asked the showroom owner that i needed a tubeless tyre instead of the stock one and he just explained to me that he had never heard PULSARS getting punctured. BANG ON, its been 3 years not even a single puncture.

Why all this fuss? Just go for what u want... If u want the new ZMR just wait for its availability and get one. The more you take advice the more you get confused.

                              HH Splendor
                              HH Ambition

You're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. ~Paul Teutul, Sr., American Chopper, "Billy Joel"
