Meghalaya is one of the small states located in Northeastern part of India. It is known as the "Abode of Clouds" with Shillong the "Scotland of the East" as its Capital. (more info about Meghalaya at Wikipeidia).

Biking culture has always been there in Meghalaya for a long time. As far as I am concern, biking groups like RERAM (Royal Enfield Riders' Associaiton of Meghalaya), xBhp(MXSAC), Motorsports Club of Meghalaya (MSCM), SR, SSR, XSR, XRB and the recent Freakybykerz exist and continue to ride with their own motives and passion. Amongst all the groups RERAM, xBhp and MSCM are three of the well-know biker groups known to have featured for quite a number of years.

In Meghalaya, xBhp came into existence in the year 2005 through Conrad (also known as Lilmc or Bink), who initiated with the objective of “uniting all bikers under one roof to share the brotherhood of Bikeism”. Since its start, xBhp had pass through a lot of ups and downs with members in and out of the group. Immaturity, attitude, personal problems and education were perhaps some of the factors that hindered the growth of the group.
As time passed by, it began loosing its strength probably due to the migration of many senior members to other locations for studies, jobs or responsibilities. It had almost vanished, while in the meantime few other local biker groups emerged, though comprising of members belonging to a few section of the community only. It was in 2009 when it gradually began strengthening once again. More rides were then carried out, more places explored, more fun was involved. Since then, safe riding and sense of responsibilities has started gaining priority though few exceptions are always there which are practical in a group.

Today, it is gradually growing in strength as seen from most of the offline G2G and hope it continues to grow in unity moving ahead with its vision. In Meghalaya, xBhp is known as the Meghalaya xBhp Sports & Adventure Club with the office located in Laitumkhrah. Like the Royal Enfield Riders’ Association of Meghalaya, the Meghalaya xBhpians is looking forward to be recognized as a registered club and hoping for the same soon. And we believe that under the leadership of xBhp.com and its passionate Bikers, we will continue striving to promote Bikeism to a higher and better level (through both online activity and offline G2Gs), though we know, as a matter of fact, that it’s a gradual and long process.

Salient activities:
I. Organized the Road Safety Awareness Campaign on the 4th September 2010 in association with Royal Enfield Riders’ Association of Meghalaya and Shillong Traffic Police.
II. Exploring potential Tourist Destinations within Meghalaya and showcasing the same via different online communities by write-ups and sharing pictures.
III. Featured in TNT Magazine: August 2010 issue with regular features in Meghalaya Times and other local Media.
IV. Active participation at the ‘MTV Stunt Mania 2010’, Shillong Auditions, as the official biking community for promotion of ‘Stunts and Safe Riding’.
V. Aiding Fire calamity victims of Jhalupara; February 2010, and providing first aid for accidents victims at Mawkdok Village; January 2010.
VI. Christmas Charity program 2009 at Mercy Home and Ferrando Hearing & Speech Centre
VII. Participation at: the World Aids Awareness Day, 2007; 7th Meghalaya Motocross, 2010; and various motor sports events organised by MSCN.
VIII. Upcoming Shillong-Sikkim Tour cum xBhp Meet from the 8th to the 12th of October 2010 (Ride Cancelled due to unexpected demise of a Kolkatta xBhpian)


We hope to carry out more rides; explore more places; promote tourism; contribute to society in whatever possible ways (which we have accomplished on few occasions in the recent times); and overall improve the Biking Culture through safe and responsible riding yet with passion and vigor for the road and the wheels!
