Thanks for the coordination Eshan.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostEDIT - I raised this issue cz there was another g2g taken place at Roopali last week when it was scheduled at TMC. I just want all members to be present, thats all. Nothing more nothing less.
Just for the record though, there was no G2G at Roopali. It was just a last minute plan when a couple of us, old timers were in the vicinity of Roopali and we decided to meet. As you said, we are bikers and a few km here or there make no difference
The G2G on 21st is important as there are quite a few announcements that we will be making that day. Hopefully all the Pune members active/passive/dormant/migratory(if possible) mark their attendance on that day.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

It seems lot of things are coming up in the pune chapter.Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostThe G2G on 21st is important as there are quite a few announcements that we will be making that day. My suggestions : Please share the Riding gear plans at today's G2G, so whoever are there are aware of what is gonna happen on 21st g2g, this will clear many doubts of members present today and those who are not present today but will be on 21st, can also be updated with the members who are present today.

I have already given my opinion in the Mumbai Thread on the riding gear topic. Would like to hear what is on the other side.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I haven't followed the mumbai thread, right now in office so a bit difficult,Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI have already given my opinion in the Mumbai Thread on the riding gear topic. Would like to hear what is on the other side.
What my perception about gears being made compulsory is that, they are being made compulsory for g2g's also.
If I have interepreted right,
Then i think it is a good move. But it should not mean having knee gaurds or jacket all the time. It should be something like, helmet and gloves atleast.
Apologies, if this reply is off topic, I will go through mumbai thread later and edit accordingly

Yes you read it right.
No more mandate on riding gear except for those required by the lawWhy this change:
xBhp has evolved, and so has the Mumbai and Pune chapter of it. Consequentially we have evolved into probably the most stringent of the chapters all across India. I, like many seniors and juniors of the community take pride in both being a reason for the change and being good at executing and enforcing it. To be honest, we all have immensely benefited from it, we have been able to build a strong, sensible motoring community here (or so we wish to think!).or whatever of it remainsAdvice is a form of nostalgia.

Well I did get the drift.

hmmm, I would be somewhat not convinced with this, if does come into effect.
I have recently joined xBHP, and never been on any ride with them. Though we do have a small group (compared to xBHP) in which almost 15 bikes always ride. Intially I only had helmet, and the rule was if it is a one day trip atleast helmet, shoes and thick jacket is compulsory for both rider and pillion, which I felt is good enough, because safety does holds and importance. But on trips on which we are riding for more than 1 day, everything is compulsory. I did not have anything, but seeing others who have, and gone through a few falls myself and seen rest on how good they are, I am slowly and steadily completing my set.
About the thing that new members won't be able to ride, well there are always way out, eg if you do not have jacket, you can put on elbow gaurds over thick jacket that almost everyone has for winters. and elbow gaurds n knee gaurds don't cost much, atleast basic. Idea is to prevent mishap or bruises in best way possible, because on the day even the best won't save you and on some other even minimal will save.
Moto should be to have basic, even if that means low cost, but some gears. Otherwise when you ride in group, and someone is hurt just because a safety requirement was ignored, the whole group is hurt.
So in a way I don't totally agree with this
I guess I made my point clear.

The minimum you are mandating is sticking to the law. There is no Helmet law in Pune though, but that should be alright as per new policies I guessOriginally posted by satyenpoojary View PostI dont know how much you read but thats what we are mandating for short rides too....

You should rather be a lawyer than an engineer. Or probably shift to IT and write and read 'BRS' documents. Youd be good at it.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostThe minimum you are mandating is sticking to the law. Pune or chinchpokli is no exception. Law still mandates a use of helmet in India. Just that Pune has a PIL against the mandate and hence lacks enforcement. NO ONE is asking you to NOT wear your state of the art gear. We are only inviting the not so fortunate ones to the ride in a hope that they learn and buy. Mandate or no mandate, xBHP or no xBHP, I WILL wear my 'not so state of the art' gear whenever on a ride. But as you very famously said once, Knee guards are cheaper than this. Do you take the responsibility of calling up the injured person's home? Why don't you call me up and make me understand if I am missing something? Maybe with my good lawyer skills, I can actually help you convince more people like me.
