Which route is better? Through Kapurhol or Sasvad?
    How are the road conditions?
Do i need to trek to reach the fort? Or can I go there on Bike as well?
I had visited the fort in monsoon a few years back. We went on via Saswad on bikes. As far as I know you can take your bike all the way up as long as the roads are there. When we had gone a part of the road was washed away due to rain. This was on the road towards the fort. There was a huge cement pipe under the road which served as a part of the road.
Since there hasn't been much rain till now the roads should be fine. A trek route is also available.

Very True- "Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity."

I like- "Bikes are not supposed to be a rational decision. If you can park it and walk away without looking back to admire it, you got the wrong one."

So what about third week of Aug "Independence day" long weekend?

      Pune - Coorg - Ooty - Munnar - Dhudhsagar - Pune.

Independence day is on Wednesday. I am game for this ride if we start on Thursday/ Friday morning (16 or 17th Aug) and be back by Sunday/ Monday (19 or 20th Aug)

Want to visit the ultimate riding wonder this monsoon.

The route via Kapurhol is much better. Atleast for me. Why not cover both routes? Come via NH4 go up to Purandar. On the way back come via Saswad. You can either return via Dive Ghat. Or IMO a better route while returning is to turn left at Saswad come via Bopdev Ghat.

No such procedure. Though all riding gear is compulsory for the ride. Please check the first page of the thread for the riding gear requirement.
You can get good riding gear at DSG in Camp, Adventure world Kothrud sells Cramster.
