  • it was indeed the independence day ride!!...

    awsome ride..
    reached home at 8.30pm.

it was indeed the independence day ride!
it was just me and my bike.
from a lil' early to dawn to a lil' late after twilight.
free from the work, free from the play,
it was just me with my bike for the whole day.
riding through the city, riding through the highways,
riding through the twisties or anything that came my way.
no traffic did stop, no slushy roads had its luck,
    no distance seemed too far,
even the broken bridge had to face bad luck.
i was glad to be with the nature,
and the friends who were riding along,
along with the riders of the group,
with the sun, wind, clouds and what not and what all.
it was a adventure to mention,
    just one of its kind,
felt like a ride to heaven,
    and everyone watching us move,
and we watched their face filled with amusement and surprise.
the gods had played their game,
the time was at stand still,
didnt notice the sun god move.
    the nature looked so beautiful,
the trees, shrubs, mountain and all,
the fields on either side, and the farmers looking at us,
    and their children and grandchildren,
    constantly cheering us.
the path we travelled had a new surprise at every turn,
    and some insidents did happen,
    but nothing had stopped us.
started from home and came back home again,
with a plesent experience in between,
that makes me smile over and over again.
some things come only once in a life time,
    this was one of them.
still wondering if it had really happened,
or was it just a dream,

thanks everyone. i love to ride even more after this experience, i am short of words!!!

PPS: With this ride, my R1 has inched very close to the 10000 km mark. It will be going to service soon to change the clutch plates and a nice new rear tyre. The clutch was slipping post 9k RPM and the rear was tramlining all over the place on the way back. But wouldn't have it any other way
Yeah! We sure had fun, but would have loved to have you along..!!
We were actually discussing over LUNNER, what if you had come along & had to cross that river (or rather stream), with your ride! (Videos must be coming up soon, I'm sure you'll love it once you look at it)

      10k sounds so cool..
& the rear tires looked in perfect shape.. I guess maybe they're not gripping too well..

Yeah! The product of dreaming to own one is similar too!
Me in office working towards my dream..
Its guys like you, that make us wanna work even harder, to get there sooner..
Will definitely have my own 'The One', in a few years from now, parked proudly in my garage..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Lol yeah i was telling John to give me the first aid kits and in fact my stethescope was in my bag yest . But you know the most amazing part was that we had the entire section of TN from the border to the damn in full awe of us; we were celeberties! Just looking back, seeing the whole line of lights in the RVMs gave me a feeling of being part of something special. Luckily no one got seriously hurt yest in the spills we had. It would have been really really tough getting some decent medical attention in these places. I dunno what i could have done other than simple first aid...and pray! These are the times i wish for a LifeFlight Chopper to be available here.

Accidents do happen, and yes anything untoward happening would have been a problem. but we were organized and speeds kept were comfortable for all and safe. Just proper first aid saves a lot lifes.
So its time we actually think in terms of these lines and actually really be a well organized group prepared for any situation thrown at us.
We were watched every second. People stopped in their tracks to let us pass. they gawked in awe. they stopped whatever they were doing and and came road side. Children cheered us on. The flags on our bikes made us even more special. People were taking our snaps, videos , we really had everything going for us. The sheer number made us a crazy crowd magnet.
Those check post guys just let us go due to our sheer number.
We were a mob for some , showoffs for others, but for those who really knew, we were bikers, we were the real deal.
