I went to Pocharam last to last week and found it an awesome place to spend a day there. Specially when you plan to take a 5km hike in Bird Reservoir . Just take care you get the permission for visiting the reservoir .
I guess the Dam would be more scenic because of recent down pours .
Do share the pics. I ll share the pics today or tom.

I went to Pocharam around 5 times and never took any permission to go near the Pocharam dam. Is there a new rule now that needs permission?? I am sure the pocharam will be beautiful now with lots of greenery and water. Sadly, I am not able to go tomorrow as I got some work.

If you are ready for the Worst possible customer suport n after sale Service
You can go for it. I Myself own a 220 Dtsi n i suggest not to get one , that too with the kind of service provided. Better go for some other reliable options Like Honda's or the ZMA/R's .

but the prob is tht there is no option in HONDA
and wereas in herohonda ZMA sucks to the core ! and the R model is good but i think there is no new technology to that bike bascially no upgrade model yet after 2008 ! I wanted to opt for Yamaha R-125 but tht is not not released yet in INDIA
Is the bike giving u any prob ? cus its better to consult soem other service guy rather than giving it to the Bajaj ppl ! cus they fuk the vechile completly !

Huh.. What not man , you never know when some issue arises.
Some of my probs:-

Once i was riding in heavy traffic and suddenly my clutch cable started getting jammed.

The very first day i bought the bike , there was some resonating sound at the Engine.


Mind you , My Bike is from the 2010 March lot and just days after i took the delivery. Some of my other friends have some other issues. You can look at the P220 ownership thread. You will get better idea.


And FYI, if you get your machine serviced by some other mechanic, you'll loose the warranty

After all the initial niggles are solved , as claimed by the company , i have faced these issues. Now decide for your self. Dont go by the notion of cheap spares so they can be replaced anytime, you'll get frustrated going to PBK every now n then.


Always play safe . Get a Honda/ZMR is even betterone, If you have the Budget why not try at the Royal enfields?? Awesome machines they are.

May I ask you why do you feel ZMA sucks to the core? Open a new thread with your requirements. Good suggestions will come.

well,i guess i'll be the judge of the p220f's here as i have done over 7k kms in less than 5months only in the city,and i have to say,it is as relayable as the honda unicorn i owned for 5 years but a thousand times more fun... i rip it like hell and drive like a maniac.. still gives me good milage,the oil cooling is brilliant and the lights at night are awesome.. as far as the service is concerned,depends on how u deal with the svc guys.. they r very co-oprative and will definately sort out every niggles,u just have to ask them in a way so as to get the job done,and tip them ocassionally... one thing i can say is that,it will take arnd 1~2 mnths in the beginning for the bike to settle properly and to show it's magic.. wat r ur requirements?? we can suggest accordingly... and oyye yesh - royal enfields ?? and that too whenur talking abt relayability ?? and i also feel the zmr is a rip off and the zma-r is better,but even that is sooooo old now... and don't get fooled thinking honda svc are good,they r like fish markets with customers shoutng at the svc guys 24/7.. it's the same story even there,u should know how to get the work done evn there.. u just have to observe all the mec's,catch the one one with good knowledge and workskills and befriend him.. worked for in the 5 years i owned my unicorn.. i also used to get my spares for half the price in honda..

No permission for the dam is required. Actually I was talking about the Bird Sanctuary . I guess I mentioned it incorrectly as reservoir . Its a nice scenic stretch of 5 kms and normally requires Forest Department permission if you wanna visit that.

I know Pocharam is common weekend getaway over here but still sharing my experience. I liked 15km hike , which included 5 km at Wildlife Sanctuary and rest around Dam , Church and Fort . In the wee hours of morning it was raining Cats and Dogs . The rain gear saved our day.

Nice shots there Juris. You got some nice wildlife shots. The lush green is inviting.

Sadly, I am disappointed to see no water in the Pocharam. Hope, it would have been filled up with recent rains. When did you do this trip?
