Hi guys..

I am been told by "on wheels" that there is an on going plan for a G2G between guys here in Kolkata and other north eastern state xBHP folks, given where us (Kolkata guys) gets the chance to do some of Hili ridding..

Possible options to meet up with hili ridding that comes to my mind is Darjeeling or kalimpong (approx 80kms-85kms) from Siliguri..

Secondly if the second G2G team is only from Meghalaya then Doorars wont be a bad idea too thinking their options of travel..

Anyway, if we can manage a leave on a Friday, a plan of a week end would be.. and off course, plan is made just one way, what about the other teams ?? what they suggest, has to be taken in to account.

Friday (Day one)

starting early at like 4AM from kolkata.. target is Siliguri..

Kolkata - Krishnanagar HighRoad (via NH34) .. 110kms

Kolkata, West Bengal, India to Krishnanagar, West Bengal, India - Google Maps

break..

Krishnanagar to Baharampur (via Nh34) around 95 kms..

Krishnanagar, West Bengal, India to Baharampur - Google Maps

break there too..

Baharampur to Malda (via NH34) around 135 kms..

break again..

Malda to dalkola (Via NH34).. around 125 kms

Malda, West Bengal, India to Dalkola, Bihar, India - Google Maps

break again..

Dalkola to Siliguri (via NH31-good road).. around 135 kms..

here by break I mean short butt breathers and at some places longer one for launch or break fast and such..

Indeed its not easy but its not that tough either, if we start at 4AM, if no rain we should reach Siliguri by day light..

Now there has to be plan B off course, what if it rains.. options to stop are like Malda town or Dalkhola then making siliguri the journey next day to conduct the meet close to somewhere of siliguri in dooars region may be..

We should be able to have a good night of sound sleep on Friday night..

Saturday (Day two)

Well its the meet day.. if we want more of Hili ride, then Darjeeling or Kalimpong (its easy for those, if any coming down from Gangtok for the G2G)..

Both these two option is around 80 / 85 kms takes around 4 hours at max from siliguri..

so we can start at early morning of sat to reach by 11AM or such, then conduct the meet, have launch together and then start back towards Siliguri at 2PM to reach plain land within day light..

Second meet option, the Dooars

Lataguri range is there.. Jaldapara, Garumara, and off course the SAMSING (my fav) which i personally think would be best for single day return trip from Siliguri (around 90kms)..

Again we get a full night of sleep to start early next day..

Sunday (Day three)

Siliguri - kolkata (same route was via which we went)..

Cons of the plan

Well it is tough for kolkata - siliguri or Siliguri - kolkata on singe day, but more we travel more we will learn the traffic goes light after the towns ..

Its very much possible to maintain 60 arvg with sane ridding too (doing at max around 80 / 85 in long empty stretches)

it wont be major issue unless it rains.. the only possible hassle in this plan is the RAIN..

secondly, the plan is 1way, what other teams r thinking about heir end of the route is some thing needs be taken into account too..

I went there at 5.30pm but unable to find anyone with xbhp logo! asked more than 20 bikers whether they are xbhp members or not, then I left the venue and came back home.

Hunky has put up the plan well & the 650kms odd are pretty much do-able during day-light. The trick is to start by 4(which means you got to wake up before 3)

Why not have a night stay up the hills if its feasible? The morning shall provide ample opportunities for photography purposes.

Extend the trip by one day(2 days for hills) and you shall be more than satisfied. 3 days would be stretching yourself IMHO.

I would be joining you guys either in the morning next day or from Dalkola itself.

^^Had done Dalkola-Calcutta(Tolly) in 9 hours while I was running-in the Karizma with ample breaks thrown in to cool the engine down.

Take Easy and don't stretch yourself. You shall be fine.

Hmm.. Infact me too in wait to hear from the senior and more regular guys to lay down the actual date and finalized plan along with budget..

Fuel for 1400kms (round trip) -> 2600 (P220 DTSi - 30kmpl argv)

friday -> 50 (heavy breakfast) + 100 (launch) + 100 (Dinner) + 100 (Night Stay) = Rs. 350
Saterday -> 50 (heavy breakfast) + 100 (launch) + 100 (Dinner) + 100 (Night Stay) = Rs. 350
Sunday -> 50 (heavy breakfast) + 100 (launch) = Rs. 150

Its around Rs. 3500 for the trip i think (if we follow the week end plan)

Guys, I don't know yet if I will be able to join the G2G in Silliguri. It all depends on the dates, leaves from office (which is an issue this year) and the camping we are hoping to execute in the end of October or first week of November. I cannot promise but I will try whatever possible.
