as for the G2G, looks like the Meghalayians have to cover a lot. Still working on the route and estimation.

by the by, does any one have some specific info about the situation in Darjeeling? Would be a shame to ride to the Dooars and not visit Darjeeling or at least Ghum...

Jai Da ,Gorkhaland scouts patrols the entire mountain roads towards Darjeeling from Mirik.In order to reach Ghum station,we have to travel those roads.These people cant even tolerate WB numbered vehicles.I fear sorry attitude of these people................The travel to Dooars or Kalimpong or Kurseong,may also not be total risk free,but less risky anyways.

Hunky implies that Kalimpong or Kurseong are routes used by military transports and so lesser chances of risks.
I dont remember those routes clearly,it has been years since I rode over there

A little correction.. I implied on kalimpong not Kurseong..

Kalimpong is on Gantok route (NH31A)
Kurseong is on Darjeeling route (NH55 i think)..

Yeah Hunky,forgive small specifics ,I dint remember every word we talked last midnight,but yes,I have retained most.....you know that

So,getting the spot on the Gangtok route would be the best and risk free I think.
So let our G2G spot ride be to Kalimpong from Siliguri on Day2.

@JaiBhai......why cant people live in peace,remains the biggest question(Kashmir got torned down,now Darjeeling) ,hence Darjeeling has to be dropped from our list,have to wait for some other time and year till all those mess gets solved.

As for going the whole hog,we really wana do a Sikkim trip this Dec-Jan and that would be a trip rather than G2G.I specifically wana go to North Sikkim and measure places like Yanthang La on my bike.But it requires time,money and preparations and right now most of us are running short of it Who wont want to enjoy,Rumtek Monastery,Peling waterfalls,Tsongo lake(rode the P220Fi to these places,3-4 yrs ago!!!!).........it has to be a real long trip bro.

Well I'm really keen on Gangtok, especially since Darjeeling's not a possibility...

and since we're doing 1200+ kms to and from Siliguri anyways...adding a maximum of 200 odd kms to our plans won't make a major difference...
