Hello Riders,

I am a novice on two wheels in India. I can hardly understand what my machine is telling me. I own a Pulsar AS200 now compared to what I have rode in the past. I want to take tour on two wheels and become adventurous again but, I get scared by the thoughts of breakdown or road conditions, permit issues, etc. I try my best to keep my machine at it's best since I bought it but, it is a bajaj and makes me worry. I am thinking of taking a day trip and wanna be back the same day, how should I go about it? Where do I start from? I live in Kolkata and would like to ride with a group if possible.

You can join our group ride anytime you want. Right now due to the month of Ramzan, group rides are inactive for some days. We will start again in July, then you can definitely join us. Keep checking this space and also our facebook group for any future rides.
For a single day day ride you can try many places around kolkata(most of them are already discussed in this thread). As for your starter, you can visit Gadiara near Uluberia, Howrah. You can follow the google map for reference. The road is pretty awesome and good for a one day trip. Try to start early morning since trucks on the Highways will be very less. The day before your ride, thoroughly check your bike, tire pressure, brakes, and lights. Wear proper riding gears. Always keep your papers ready and upto date.

Believe it or not, I came across that name on the 23rd last month to make an excuse for my escape to digha at home..lol! But, loved your exploration trip. I am gonna make a trip to Kolaghat for starters then to Raichak. Help me gear up, you know the Kolkata weather, suggest a jacket, I amusing an A1 Modular Helmet which I feel ain't fitting me that well since my chin comes in contact when I close it. I can spend wisely if required. I would like to light up my bike, do you think a Philips X-tremevision H7 55w bulb would do any better? where can I get quality accessories? I am sending a request to your facebook group.

Hi Hunterkol (lol..whats your actual name BTW), don't even try to visit Bankiput in this hot weather. Extremely bad place to visit in summer. Yes, you can for Kolaghat though. For the Jacket you can use Rynox Tornado Pro. All weather : This jacket comes with a detachable rain and a thermal liner, so you can use it for all weather conditions. Go for a LS2 or MT whichever suits your jaw frame. Check out the reviews and details before buying.
You can get this gears at GEAR UP or BP ROADIES(google it). You can also try our very own Wellington Market. As for the Lights I wouldn't suggest you to take chances your stock lights. If you really want more lights, better go for Aux lamps.

The name is Harsh, thank you for awesome suggestions. I liked the LS2s and would prefer a modular. I would be heading to both BP Roadies and Gear after this week. Yup, will have to go to Bikers Paradise at Kolkata as they say "The Wellington"! Lol.
