will be riding to Coorg on coming tuesday (25th) for lunch and a cup of coffee. Can anyone please help me with the road condition after Mysore. Anyone who is free and willing to ride ~500 odd kms on same day is welcome.

I will defintly try to be a part of tht next time. last month few of my frnds went. they never complained about the roads. but before you gom please do check.
drive safe and if possible we will plan something on nov 1st as its a holiday

Weekend Getaways around Bangalore

Hi guys,

What are the best weekend getaways near Bangalore?

The destination should be near enough so that one can leave early in the morning (say around 3-4 am) and get back to Bangalore by night (around 9-10 pm) ?

Having shifted base to Bangalore I haven't been on a lot of rides main reason being am unfamiliar with most of the destinations.

I have been to Nandi Hills (ofcourse who hasn't?) but that is just a morning ride rather than a day ride. The other long ride I did was to Coorg, but that was possible only because of a long weekend (3 days holiday). Places like Ooty, Kodai, Waynad etc similarly would require 2-3 days holiday at the least.

Plus there are many lesser known destinations which are not famous and so only people living in the city for some time know about them. I am looking for those kinds of destinations.

mysore - madikeri road is awesome. well laid. but if your going towards gonikoppa or virajpet it gets pretty bad after hunsur.

Can someone please help me out on shops in Mysore where i can get helmets and jackets, say LS2s/DSGs.

Or would I have to go to Bangalore to purchase these?. If so, which shops?

i do not think you will get LS2 or DSG in mysore..

For DSG .. call them or order it online...
For LS2 .. come to Bangalore (JC road)

Hi guys! Planning for a ride to Chamundi Hills, Mysore on 29-Oct, Saturday.
Will leave early in the morning (as usual), & the plan is to return by 1pm (in time for Qualifying of the inaugural Indian GP).

Currently, 4 riders are confirmed to ride out of B'lore, while a couple of them would like to meet us at Mysore (they are currently there).

Please be present at any one of these meeting points:
Meeting Point 1: NICE Road entry near Electronic City, 05:30 am (Call Sukesh on 9845291995 for directions)
Meeting Point 2: Rajarajeshwari Nagar entrance arch, Mysore Road, 05:30 am (Call Nikhil on 9986265206 for directions)
Meeting Point 3: NICE Road - Mysore Road junction, 06:00 am
(Riders from Meeting Points 1 & 2 will converge at Meeting Point 3)

The plan is to return by 1pm, so that we don't miss the Qualifying of the inaugural Indian GP.
