@ Prajwal, @ Praful: Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs... I've done Kudremukh route about 3 years ago and it was just too good, since i haven't done the Agumbe stretch, wanna cover the same during this trip... Is there a way i can cover both of them , Double Masti ??? We're open for the changes in the route

Oh that would be easy...

Blore-Hassan-Belur-Kalasa-Karkala-Hebri-Agumbe-Tirthahalli-Shimoga-Tarikere-Kemmangundi-Chikmagalur-Hassan-Bangalore

Kotigehara-Kalasa is painful, there is an alternative route. Contact DarthVeda, he knows about it!

Karkala-Tirthahalli is decent almost all through out. The Agumbe ghats is concrete and broken at a few places but is decent for the most part of it.

Blore-Hassan is pretty good, Hassan-Belur is a bliss....

Other parts I have never been so no info from my side about that!

^-^ Thanks a lot Praful, you've made my job a lot easier ... Here goes the tentative plan.

Day 1: Blore-Hassan-Belur-Kalasa-Hornadu (Halt)
Day 2: Hornadu - Kalasa - Kudremukh - Karkala-Hebri-Agumbe-Tirthahalli (Halt)
Day 3: Shimoga - Tarikere - Kemmangundi - Chikmagalur - Hassan - Bangalore (Will skip Kemmangundi and proceed straight if time doesn't permit)

With this particular combo, we might be able to make few of the best places around that region...

@ Darthveda, you have a PM, need some info about Kotigehara-Kalasa route...

When you leave kalasa towards Kottigehara, you will pass through the temple first (which is at the end of the road), you will have to take a compulsory right then when you go in that you will come to a fork in the road, where it says "Kottigehara" towards right and then Chikamaglur to the left. Take the LEFT road!, don't take the right. Continue in that road till you reach a place magundi, then take the right at the intersection. The boards clearly mention which way to go. The other road takes you to chikamaglur, which you shouldn't go. This road will make you travel extra 4 KM but it is worth.

While you are in Kalasa, goto this shop called "MN Kamath cool drinks". The owner of this shop is a very friendly person, and can guide you. Also drop in my name

@ DarthVeda, thanks a lot for your inputs... But i guess you've given route from Kalasa - Kottigehara... Am doing it in the opposite direction i.e. Kottigehara - Kalasa, will just making left to right & vice versa suffice ??? Looking at the maps, it does make sense, but any specific land-marks ???

Hey Sharad, how are you doing man ??? Recovered from your accident ??? To update you, am doing a trip with a friend of mine whose bike is in run-in condition, it'd be more of a leisure trip than anythng else with good number of butt / photo breaks :-)
