Throughout xBhp’s journey, I have ensured that I shared all my joy with this fantastic community that we have all built. Along with that, I have also done whatever I could to give back to society. Whether it was campaigning against drugs or raising awareness against cybercrime, we have made sure to do our bit whenever and wherever we can.

If you have read the previous pieces, you will know that I have gotten myself a Mahindra BE 6. In traditional xBhp fashion, it has been customised. And after all that, it was unveiled at an event that also featured an idea that is very close to my heart- One Percent Matters.

So, what is One Percent Matters? Well, it is a movement by yours truly, MotoGrapher, and xBhp. The idea behind it is what one percent of what we spend on our luxuries can do? If the answer is bringing joy and happiness to someone in need, then you belong with this project as much as we all do. So with a lot of joy and pride, here’s all about what One Percent Matters is all about.

It is a community-driven movement aimed at encouraging people to give back to society. It is not meant to be about grand gestures or donations; it is about doing your bit in impactful ways, even if small. As passionate motorcyclists and enthusiasts, we celebrate our personal milestones and successes with everyone.

That has been the story of xBhp for years. But using our community and these get-togethers as a platform to bring about meaningful change has made xBhp’s existence more illustrious than ever, with the hope that the number of people we can touch will only propagate these thoughtful messages forward, bringing more and more people together in this bid to do good.

To get this idea going, we were going to need help. That came in the form of an NGO called STAIRS. We have collaborated with them in the past well but this project is extra special in the way it all came about and fell into place. Our last project with STAIRS was based on raising awareness against drug use. The project was called ‘Say No To Drugs, and Yes to Motorcycling. For this project, we went around the country raising awareness and funds to help people support xBhp and STAIRS in this fight against drug abuse.

The whole point is that we, passionate bikers of India bikers and India’s largest lifestyle motorcycling community and performance car platform, can do our bit by aiming for a new way of thinking that luxury and empathy can go hand in hand. Let me give you an example. Let us say you bought a motorcycle that you had been looking to get your hands on for a long time. How joyous is the occasion when you finally swing a leg over it? It cannot be described in words.

But that joy is multiplied when this purchase brings a smile to someone else’s face as well. The moment we think about doing something for the people and society, our joy and contentment are enhanced. So, if everyone who makes a significant lifestyle purchase, especially a vehicle, we aim to encourage them to consider giving back just 1% of that value. That 1% may not be a lot to you, but it might mean the world to someone out there.

If you’re a biker, car enthusiast, motorhead, EV enthusiast or simply someone who believes in the power of giving back to society, this is your call to action. Or at least we hoped it would be. Fortunately, that is exactly what happened. We were joined by around 120 bikers and 10 car owners who wanted to not only share the joy of the unveiling of xBhp’s new Mahindra BE 6, but also the joy of giving back.

The event was held at Bikers Barn in Sector-59, Gurgaon. A big thanks to them for being the venue partners for this event. A big thanks to RedBull as well, our energy drink partners, who kept the participants charged throughout the event. The event started with some music and breakfast.

It was followed by the unveiling of our Mahindra BE 6. Now, I did mention that we did some customising before the unveiling, well, I designed my new BE 6 around the theme of Joker. From the colour palette to the subtle nods and text, it all points to Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker.

While everyone loved the design as the Joker is a well-loved character, there was another surprise in store. I started the One Percent Matters movement with the 1% of my own BE 6. The medium I chose was sports. Mr Anil from STAIRS joined us at the event along with 20 children. The BE 6 was filled with footballs for all the kids. As we distributed the gifts among the children, I realised that while getting the BE 6 made me happy, the smiles on the faces of those children meant more to me than a lot else. The event was topped off by a cake-cutting at the end and a group photo with everyone involved.

I hope this story reaches as many people as possible, and it encourages them to join hands with us or even do something on their own to give back to society. If the joy of 20 children can fill up our hearts, imagine the joy when we do the same for 20,000! And with our combined efforts, I am sure we can do that. I hope this message finds you in good health and if so, I hope it stirs something in you and serves as a call to action for you.

Drive Safe. Always have your seatbelt on…
