Default Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0

Hi..
I am writing this on behalf of the actual owner whose name is Nimai Kumar Das ( A Friend of mine)
I am From Ranchi, Jharkhand
Got the bike on 22nd September first in the City at
On Road Price of rs 1,16,480

Take it as a initial review..

Handling
I Drove the Both bike i.e v1 and v2 and i feel that the handling is quite better from the last one.

Performance
Here also the bike was little better than the old one and i feel the difference in the initial pickup. The bike is in Run in period so cant say much about Performance and Top Speed. Will update it later.

Looks
I think most of you already seen the bike in flesh or in the photos. ( in my views pics don't do justice with the looks)
Those who says that the rear part is over worked i don't think so it just matches the bike and gives it more aggressive look.
here comes the pillion part yes the rear person will feel uncomfortable in long rides and whenever i breaks my friend just pushes me from back and u cant help you can only hold the rear side panel and even it slips sometime.. i think yamaha can add a under grab just link twister.

Road Presence
Weather you driving or siting behind both feels like Super Bike all the people just cant help them looking the bike and it just a awesome experience. Specially Red and White. The Dealer also told me that the black with grey can be turned into Black and white it will cost 3000rs (rear portion and low fairing can be taken off easily and u can fit any colour)

Problems Faced till now
The Gear is not that smooth and neutral light doesn't go off in any gear.
Taken the Bike to Service center and the Gear problem is now almost less line 70% but 30% i still say its little hard and not smooth but i am satisfied and the neutral light is still to be checked..

Here is some Pics if you have some Question you can ask.

^ heres me with the bike

@ Azet: Nice reports there buddy. I just want to know two things. Is this equivalent to V1.0 on top end or lagging behind?

That would be my major concern as I am desparate to go for it but this is the only thing stopping me. I heard that it is 5 kgs heavier than the V1.0. So, your inputs may play a crucial part in my decision...

2. Any problem if we take out rear tyre hugger??

True .... I too am waiting to jump in and buy this but .... As earlier mentioned on another thread I am pretty satisfied with the CBR250r ..... So would I be making a mistake ?? And yes would it be ok if the rear tyre hugger is removed ?

I checked with one of the dealer's in Pune, waiting time is now 60 days & might be extended due to continous heavy booking. On road price is 1.19L..

The bike is new and in run in period so i didnt checked the top speed. Maintaining the speed of 40 - 50kmph for now. But i feel the top end is better as company said (Lets see i will update it further)

2. Any problem if we take out rear tyre hugger??
I am keeping the hugger and i dont find any problem with that. If u remove the hugger you may get some problem in rainy season.
The hugger is joint with the saree gaurd and swing arm if any 1 want to remove it has to be removed completely from swing arm and saree guard will also come with it.
Answers in bold.

I went to 'Yamaha Riders' in camp and they told me the same thing.
20-30 days waiting is normal in pune for all brands except bajaj .

I'd suggest Pune guys to go to Mumbai for the booking

Correct. Top end is surely gonna drop becoz of the rear tyre and the extra weight, but not by more than 5-6 kph. V2 has new and better aerodynamics.

For tourers -> the V2 will have better momentum, BUT since the rear seat is now a spilt, i am not sure if the travel-bags will tie nicely.

For city riders -> no noticeable diff between V1 and V2. You can't cross 80 and both bikes have similar but solid handling.

only for people behind you Since the rear seat is a bit raised, i doubt if there'll be any feedback spillage on the back of your shirt. Keep the mud-guard to be sure!
