Review!
I got the bike today evening.
The bike first of all, looks way way better than any picture on the internet.
ITS HUGE! The rear tyre, the tyre hugger, the swing arm, the faux carbon like piece that runs through the entire bike... Everything is very big! The bike itself is long and bulkier compared to the previous version.
The performance part, I cannot do much justice here since I have't really opened up the throttle yet. The throttle play has decreased. The engine note certainly has more grunt and husk now. If the previous version's note was Eddie Vedder, this version is surely Kurt Cobain!
The seat is pretty comfortable, it is slightly on the harder side but still comfortable nonetheless. One thing to acknowledge is the greatly improved under thigh support. The seat is pretty broad now. So it might be a problem for us vertically impaired guys to place both feet completely on the ground.
The brakes are very very good! I'm very impressed by the way it brings the bike to a halt without any hassles or jerks.
The suspension of the bike is slightly on the stiffer side(IMO). No complaints though.
Overall I'm very happy I waited(for a loooong time) for this bike. It's beautiful.
All the components used in the bike, be it the foot pegs, the various levers, the faring, the switch gear, the tank lid, even the locks! Everything exudes quality and speaks of a premium product. The fibre used in various parts is also very nice quality.
But, the joints near the rear seat are ever so slightly misaligned. This, compared to all other joints is an eye sore.
These are some of the random points that came to my mind. Do ask away your queries.
Regards,
Mysore,Karnataka.

And yes! Mine is the first delivery in Mysore.Jimmy smokes crack and I do not care!

How is the initial torque ?? Noticeable improvements over V1.0 or those were just speculations ?Originally posted by Abhichoco View PostDo ask away your queries.
Any update on how the handling feels ?
Decreased throttle play is clearly a good sign.. V2.0 may afterall live upto some of those fair & genuine expectations.

You want us to trust the guy who:Originally posted by pravu View PostIncorrect I must say, to take care of the performance, its ecu has been remapped this time and surprisingly it would have a better top end than its older sibling.
1) had confirmed insider news that this new R-series bike from Yamaha was a 250cc, and he was all for it; then
2) was trolling the Ninja250R thread saying he is booking one (or was it - has booked one); then,
3) finally ended up buying the Honda CBR250R
@Abhichoco: Congrats for the bike man.
Do share some pics of the beauty, and keep us updates about the ride experience.
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

@ Tibby: Hey brother! Pravu may be right on the top end front. What I heard that Yamaha has developed the bike keeping in mind the fact that they don't have to compromise the performance level of V1. I am not saying that I am sure. However, this is what the speculation and this is what heart wants while brain rejects...
No choice except waiting for a review...

Thank you everyone!!
I would have uploaded pics had it not been for the horrible net connection.
Anyways, the initial torque is now rather grunty. I haven't really taken it above 6k rpm, but still there is NO VIBRATIONS whatsoever! I mean who is this guy who designed the bike?! Gotta meet him!
Again, the bike looks magnificent! Especially from the rear, the rear tyre is HUGE! In comparison, the ZMR's tyres looked like Platina tyres(no offence).
And yes! The r15 now has twin throttle cable!
I'll keep updating you guys. And remember,

I mean I need to wait 2+ months
. Waiting for ur pics, reviews on low and mid torque, top speed (but take ur time for run in). I think we need to practice side kick or leg stretch to get on the bike without hitting our foot on the pillion seat
(May be coz I'm 5' 7")
Love the ride, not the destination

Congratulations. Ride safe. How is the riding posture? I found it little aggressive than the older version. Have you tried riding for longer duration like 1 hr or so? Any strain on shoulders or back?

Well, the riding posture is certainly very aggressive, pretty similar to the v1 I would say. But the thing is the seat is now much wider and longer(?). It provides very good under thigh support.
I haven't sat on the bike for longer than 30mins at a stretch and I didn't feel any pain in shoulders. Certainly no back pain. There was some pain in the wrists though.
And, My R15 is Black. Its magnificent.Jimmy smokes crack and I do not care!

Congrats mate. r15 2.0 is indeed a wonderful piece of art! I loved the look of the bike especially the Red/white one, yet to ride it and looking forward to it. I loved the riding posture, dint find any difference compared to the 1.0(What ever you might wanna call it).Originally posted by Abhichoco View PostThank you.

I however dint like the feel of sitting as a pillion rider, its just not comfortable I feel. Will be a great inconvenience for a lady passenger if not your GF or Wife.
Also the edges of the faring ends close to the foot rest(Well its not very close though) and I actually hit it once while testing out the bike. This is my only complaint interms of the design( plus rear seat), otherwise its an art I must say. This coming from a CBR250r owner
