    i really find it funny when people make their mom's sit on r15 v2 , when we all know for guys to sit in the pillion seat is big task, and your girlfriends are pretty ok with sitting on it. why make them suffer by making them sit on that seat?

    i have an activa which i use when me and mom are going out.... and since my mom is not overweight and sometimes wears other clothing other then saris there is a possibility of her sitting on the r15 when i get it.....

      Only problem is as there are no grab rails and due to the seat positioning the pillion tends to fall towards the driver during a sudden brake..

        Dude , currently i'm owning R15 V 1.0 !! I guess , i will be getting my New R15 on April 2012 !! On that time i will sell my Old Baby R15 !!

        On that time I will not have any other sub bike , to take my mom out with me !! I guess with practice my mom will be able to sit in such a way to get the comfort !!

        Anyways , Very nicely said !!

          well it will obviously depend on your mom's comfort level. but as far as i feel it a compromise with handling by making mom's sit on one side when they wear saree. with previous version it was possible, but with this one its difficult. when i had FZ-s before, my mom used to sit pretty comfortably{with saree or any other dress} but when ever i used to brake she used to slide front and that was the only problem there. but with r15 v2 it changes completely.
          when i took my mom for test ride of r15 v2 she refused to sit :P when she saw the height of the seat her expression was and she was wearing jeans that day so she finally managed to sit n i took her for the round, and she told its little uncomfortable to sit.
          But my advise : do not take our mom if she is sitting with saree and there is no grab rails for her to hold on to something...and safety of the pillion comes first.....

                  Info for Bangalore R15 users.

                  The Yamaha tank pad is now available in Perfect Riders. It's pretty neat with a carbon fiber finish which goes well with the rest of the theme. It's hard molded before hand giving it the shape of the tank which fits in perfectly. Not like the usual sticker tank pads.

                  Part Number : Y6ATPR15CB11
                  Price : 415 INR

                  There was a guy there who said similar ones are available in JC Road for half the price. Not sure about the quality though.

                      Hello all,

                      I was checking with Yamaha showrooms in Chennai for White special edition R15. Heard the angel eyes is compulsory for this variant. IS this true ? can someone confirm?

                          well riding with a pillion weighing around 70 and me at 62 the bike touch 120 quite well, definitely the pick up speaks up u really feel the fire in bike to speed up , but yes sitting at pillion while my friend driving was a pain in ass as it was really difficult to get a grip as a brake kept me falling forward a bit creating pain in my ass bcoz it was out of the seat most time as due to braking.

                          so after riding my friends bike for few days definitely the best machine in this range except for the pillion the rest is amazing ,untill u have ur gf siiting on back leaning forward which will make it easier to balance...


                          wish yamaha had done something to rectify it or maybe yamaha followed the american way drive alone or drive with a babe along haha....

                              yep it can cross more defiantly lame car on my path so need to slow down on not on highway just a flyover
