Had a test ride at Orion Motors Bangalore. I currently own a ZMA and have ridden the CBR250 twice before. But the R15 is oh so different and so much fun! The flickability is just marvellous..For me, it scores high everywhere except sheer power..A little more torque and I would have booked the bike then and there..I am still thinking

News - I am told by the sales lady there that the production of the sunset red has been suspended for atleast 2 months...And that the co is focussing more on red/ white 50th anniversary edition. Not sure though if this is true or an effort to drag me towards the 50th anni edition.

Need one input from the owners here. How bad (assuming so) has been the response from ur pillions (esp ur better halves)...

      • The pillion seat is comfortable for girls who don't have any reservations on holding the driver...Without holding the rider, it gets very uncomfortable..Short heighted females have a problem in climbing the rear seat as they need to step up on the foot rest to sit.

        • Did you try Paras yamaha and Sri motors???
Sai Ram, Sri motors and Jain motors have bad reviews..

I did the service in Sai Ram.. I was pretty much gutted after a little paint in my fairing near my footrest was scratched off.. Moreover everyone who comes for service is unhappy.. It is clearly visible in the service area because everyone has a complaint even after service is done..

Friends told the other centres are also bad.. Few People said that Paras Yamaha is okay.. Think for my next service will take it there.. But still its a good 15=20 kms away from my home..

Arent there any big private service centres who see R15s because they give importance to even small things.. My local mechanic sees only the ordinary carb bikes..

If you're gonna ride with a pillion then its not gonna be that great..

When you carry a heavy pillion.. Your Pickup drops to a considerable amount..

The Seating position is a little inclined and no grab rails so whenever you break a little hard, the pillion falls on you which aint pretty cool.. Your Pillion has to have a hand on your back always to avoid it..

Whats way uncooler is that when they try to adjust their seating position after a hard brake their adjusting movement creates a good amount of wobble to your handlebar( Maybe Im not really muscular but still I dont feel this much in other bikes )

Ive gone with my mom for a good amount of distance.. She wears a saree and sits one sided.. Its not impossible to go with her.. She feels a little uncomfortable but its not very difficult.. with a little practice it will be fine..

When It comes to better halves.. Its comparatively better if the pillion leans front holds onto you (Guy Pillions hate to do that.. Only your Girlfriend would love to do it )

So Try to get a test ride with a pillion before you book the ride because its a serious thing to look at if you're gonna have a pillion often..

Um , My mom may be around 60 - 75 Kilos !! Will the Pick up drops >

I Currently own a R15 V 1.0 !! I have faced the Same problem !! May be even Im not really Muscular

My Mom used to sit in two halves !! Do the Pillion seat is Slippery ?? If i give sudden acceleration will the Pillion falls backward by ejecting from the seat ?

Um , when i ask for a test ride , the service men sits behinds me !! He may be around 65 kilos !! He hold my shoulders for his support I din't feel any drop in pickup !!

With Pillion , at what speed we can drive ? Since the pillion seat is slightly inclined if we ride @ 70 km/hr or above will the pillion feels Uncomfortable Due to the High blow of Winds ?

Note - [ One of my friend owns R15 V 2.0 , But i feel shy to ask him to allow me for a test ride !! But one fine day he Himself gave his bike to check the top speed of his bike ]

I would like you to clarify my doubts !!

              " peace "

Sri motors will be the best among the other Yamaha Service Center !!

                  • Hello Guys !!

I met one complicated guy and i have one doubt .. Do we have to maintain the bike with Extra care till the Run in Period is completed ? [ 0 - 1000 km ] ??

Why im asking because , i met one guy today morning ! He got Baby R15 v 2.0 delivered by sri motors and when we both were on the way to our respective home , He Just Ripped off !! I was doing 80 km/hr and i bet he may would have done 120 km/hr or above !!

At last he got blocked by the Singal , i caught him and asked why are you doing over speeds on the run in period ? He simply replied that , the Bike's health Would be good if we don't maintain the Run in period !! I was Shocked

                    Is it so ?

                          Driving @ 50 - 60 km/hr will be awesome , instead of ripping @ higher speeds..

Why do you think Yamaha mentioned in the service manual that one should take utmost care when the engine is new. It is in the manual, so it doesnt matter what others say, Yamaha made this R15 v2.0 after a lot of thought and made Technically the Best machine even better! Similar to bike they must have put a lot of thoughts while preparing the Owners Manual so they did their job, we have do our job by following it. As simple as that.

                            Cheers!

Lol Thats Not gonna happen.. The seats are inclined towards the driver.. So Unless your pillon tries to lean back and you pull off a terrific wheelie your pillion wont fall back ejecting from the seat

Only problem is as there are no grab rails and due to the seat positioning the pillion tends to fall towards the driver during a sudden brake..
