I do understand that the bike checks itself!Originally posted by nastrofaction View PostWell, the bike just checks if everything is fine. If it is too heated up it cools it down. If its cold, it works on bringing more fuel in for a smooth start and things.

The confusion is, despite of any condition (weather/engine); the fuel pump activates when Engine switch ON and key turned ON, and doesn't when the engine switch is OFF..
Money can get a 1942 BSA these days, but even Warren Buffet's whole Bank account can't get us our leg back!

The sound while turning on the ignition happens because the Fuel Pump Compresses a little amount of fuel through the Injector and prepares the bike for a start.
There wont be any cold start issues on an R15 no matter how many days its left unused.
The sound comes only from the Fuel Pump and no where else, if your engine switch is off then it means you are not going to operate the vehicle and the Fuel Pump will not function. If you always Turn off the Engine switch and start the ignition to avoid this sound, you may encounter cold start issues.Last edited by HarishK; 02-24-2012, 01:30 AM.

Got to 500kms in 5 days , changed the oil and oil filter myself and took her to 7.5rpm(remained at 7.5rpm for about 3 mins) , but a little after that, the radiator fan started and remained for a long time..(Engine 'off', I put the key in 'on' position).. That is ok, right..??Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Yep, It's OK.Originally posted by Ivin View PostGot to 500kms in 5 days , changed the oil and oil filter myself and took her to 7.5rpm(remained at 7.5rpm for about 3 mins) , but a little after that, the radiator fan started and remained for a long time..(Engine 'off', I put the key in 'on' position).. While in run-in, do not maintain the bike at same rpm constantly and give short bursts to make most out of it.
The engine gets to be more heated during initial days.
Ride On.

Had bought one two years ago(paddock stand),so do not know the current pricing. Moreover it is not possible to attach it single-handedly.Check the SVC for the pricing.

How do you secure your helmet
My question is to all R15 V2 owners.Guys how do you secure your helmet on this bike when parked? I mean we cannot carry the helmet around every time.
As of now i just use a cable lock on my HH Hunk. But i am clueless about same with R15 V2
Safety doesn't happen by accident.....ride safe ride longer

Hi
Open the rear seat. Underneath it you will find two hooks on either side to attach Helmets.
Cheers and ride safe

@ mav:
Why would you wanna leave your helmet with the bike..?? IMO, its a very bad practice.
1. Someone can nick it. Consider the fact that my helmet is about 3k and prone to be stolen. Forget that, someone stole my balaclava. I hope atleast he had the sense to wash it before using it.
2. Its totally unhygienic. The dust and all possible shit that can fall on it. I mind it, when it comes what i put on my head and breath through.
3. Scratches to the body paint surface.
I carry around my helmet...and when i think i need the freedom of both my hand, i just take helmet bag along. The helmet bag came along with my LS2. Suggest you get one too.

Only the good
I've more or less decided on getting an R15, but the CBR150 and 200NS are nagging concerns. Apart from the info on the Yamaha website, what're all the best reasons to get the R15.
When I took a short test drive(it was the longest allowed), I couldnt get past 5k rpm so acceleration felt dull, brakes were awesome, and I spent most of my time looking for the foot pegs
I put up a thread in the What bike section but I'm looking for is good reasons to choose the R15.
PS. I know this question is over used, still I have to ask how do tall people enjoy this bike?

5000 kms completed on my R15 V2...issues as of now none..
cosmetic damages:
scratches and small dents tank and some scratches on tail part.Anyways il be replacing these parts around 15k kms.
Im 6 feet and i have no problems in enjoying this bike, had been on long tours ranging from 200 to 800kms in a day.position yourself correctly and pain will be much less

Two Brothers Racing :: Search results for juicebox_yamaha
Adding an interface between ECU and fuel system.
Not sure if someone has used it in r15 or whether it should be used.Ride On,
