I also once hit a person just like you did, he was around the corner exactly perpendicular to the direction of traffic and that too on a road with average speed of more than 60...... there were no injuries though.... since then I have been careful....Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View Post

After a long time!
Hmm.. Nice FE there!Originally posted by dpak89 View PostI rode between 7.5k to 9.5kRPM.It was a Solo Trip buddy!
P.S: i dont think someone can do a 1000km+ trip on V2 with pillion
Pillion's A$$ may get punctured
1. Nice to know! But in my case when i hit rev limiter in 3rd gear,it was not smooth after that. I felt a stutter in the bike until RPM came down.
2. ~30km/l
..seriously ? i also did ghats. In fact i have visited ooty twice in the last three weeks. never i got below 37-38
. did u try to ride it like RX
??
3> I get 40+ in city riding (<7.5), obviously when driven sanely!
Regarding redlining- Even mine stutters once you hit the red line! What I said is, it doesn't make you feel that you have reached there!
C'Mon Deepak, I said 34.. Don't make it less by 12%..
And 40+ in city where we ride "responsibly" is great!
I'm 6+.. Its cool bud. Get used to it.. After all its an Arranged Marriage, even though you had proposed! .. it may be will take a few days to get accustomed too and also the fact that i am almost 6ft tall it might take some extra time to get used to the ergs of the bke .. i am trying to keep the bike below 5000 mark.. ( man its so tempting to just break free
) .. But its a dream to ride the bike in the highway .. damn pointed ... falling in love with the bike more and more ..

Welcome to the club buddy! The brakes are just AWESOME! Try (Actually don't- but if time comes) stopping from 110 when behind a truck and a sudden diversion comes, you shall know! Gateway to Enlightenment!Originally posted by r_c111 View PostHave done around 115 kms. Yesterday went for a 70km long drive in city. The bike did impress me. I lower end torque is good, can't compare it with the older version bcoz i never rode it. But this one seems to pull up pretty well. Just ripped the bike once to 5-6k rpm. I must say upto 4000 rpm it doesn't show its real skin but beyond that it behaves like a different machine. I felt like suddenly the bike has changed. It really gave me a lot of confidence on cornering. Did small twisties on it at 55kmph. Haven't checked the fe but according to the indicators it feels like it should give around 40+. Although its early to say but i felt the break to be better responsive than my FZ-S. I m damn happy with my bike. Have changed a few things like removing the saree guard & cut the mud guards to half. Then removed the front number plates & pasted the number on the front bumpers. As soon as i got the delivery i put the black racing Yamaha tank pad. Didnt notice much back pain , there was a bit of back pain when i did a long drive for around 35kms but that wasn't very significant. But certainly there was a lot of wrist pain, especially of the left hand & it increased with every time i pressed the clutch lever. Rest all the bike is awsome.
I have owned an FZ -s previously but now the way people look at me has changed. They are divided into exact two halves the one who stare at you & appreciate your steed & those who feel jealous & want to compete with you
. Yesterday couple of dude on platina & dazzler were giving me some attitude & cutting past me every now & then. But i remained unresponsive so they went away. Fools although even if the bike was not in break in period i wouldn't have raced with them. Because i generally love to ride on low speeds & enjoy the ride. But there are times when the adrenaline rushes in & you gotta show them what kind of man you are.
Will be going for oil change next week.
On the day of delivery i saw a blue R15 2.0 on the signal & i stopped my bike just next to him. Looked at him, he smiled i smiled back. Then as soon as the signal turned green he showed me the real power of the bike & zoomed past everybody, felt great to loose to a fellow R15 2.0 owner.
Go with your heart! If the dealer has promised, you shall not worry, provided you trust him!Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View PostHey ya
. The 10 th bike had got less scratches and the handle bar finishing part is pretty OK while compared to the other Bikes .. And that bike Impressed me
, that's why ............
By the way when i visited the showroom 1 week back , about '5' 50 th anniversary got down from the Lorry .. And finishing parts of those bike was excellent . But unfortunately i had no money on that day to get my delivery from that lot .
Note- - They say this is the last lot . Hence no more 50 th anniversary will arrive ...

Thanx for the concern antz.bin. Though, highly, unexpected I really appreciate it.
@Daytona: yeah man, hoping for the same. Plus, dont think these folks even know what a dyno is. Wonder if it'll be a case of trial n error in correcting the alignment. Biking spirit's really low.

I can understand, My R-Elbow was dislocated in an accident(bike).. took about a year to recover... Initially I was scared to ride on top speed, m normal now.. A foolish pedestrian was trying to cross the road, all off sudden he started running and bumped with my bike..Originally posted by liionheart View Post@ABikerAtHeart
I had learned the lesson hard way I was bed ridden for more than 6 months with my R15 V1 head on at 125KMPh ( god knows how i was saved). My biking confidence was so low after that accident that I rarely cross 40KMPH and scare by sight of tractor with trolly on road. But now I am back to normal.
Always ride at 80% of top speed which you can handle.May be that 20% reduced speed may not be 100+( in your case 50kmph) but you can handle emergency well.
And don't depend on reaction, always perceive & anticipate.
Road is full of shocks & surprises.
Happy recovery for both of you & your bike.

Help please. Thanks.
Hi guys,
Going to get my R15 2.0 next week(white LE or Black). I have a doubt. I want to know if warranty will become void if we do the following things on the bike:
1. Removal of Saree Guard and Cutting half of the Rear Tyre Hugger (common thing)
2. Installation of LED Rear Passenger Pegs like done on the R6 (refer attachment)
3. Installation of a possible Third Eye like in R6.(not sure if this is possible but nonetheless, refer attachment)
4. Installation of Bi-Xenon/HID Projector Headlamps/Angel Eyes (refer attachment)
Kindly tell me which of these will void warranty and which will not. Thank you.
Note:
Yamaha provides 2 years warranty and I plan on going for extended warranty(+3 yrs) for Rs.777. So totally 5 yrs warranty.Last edited by neodecoder; 04-24-2012, 10:45 AM.

I personally think thats not possible , and calculate by reserve to Reserve (F) for better results
Happy riding

FE!
Not necessary, but many of us did! Its your wish, but from what we've learnt here, its good if you do!Originally posted by discover View PostIs it necessary to change the oil before 500kms ?.. i have done 620kms and i could not get the oil changed.. should i immediately change the oil or wait for 1000kms ? And 52 seems great!
As Kotty said, its not possible, I would suggest a similar tank-full method.
1. Fill the tank, and remember till where you have filled. (I put the bike on stand on the same pump, and fill till the brim)
2. Ride the way you normally do.
3. Say after 200- 250 kms, fill again to the same mark, same place preferably and note the amount of petrol filled.
4. Kms/Petrol filled in point 3 = KMPL.
I asked a query but didn't get an answer!
Is the petrol Reserve indicator accurate?
Does it start flashing exactly at the same point?Money can get a 1942 BSA these days, but even Warren Buffet's whole Bank account can't get us our leg back!

Instead, I would recommend getting your first service earlier, say 750-800 kms (or within 30 days whichever is earlier)..Changing the oil now and again at 1000 wont serve the purpose..Originally posted by discover View PostIs it necessary to change the oil before 500kms ?.. i have done 620kms and i could not get the oil changed.. should i immediately change the oil or wait for 1000kms ? N frankly speaking 52 is too optimistic..

Shreyas, since there is a sensor involved and the level of fuel would never be stable, there would be some inconsistency as to the reserve flash coming on..Originally posted by shreyassave View PostIs the petrol Reserve indicator accurate?

Before the accident I was getting 52.5kmpl but I did not share because I dint think anyone would believe me.Originally posted by kotty4u View PostAnswers in Bold italics
More on the accident: The sales guy at the asked for the original document (Insurance papers, RC Book, License). The bike's registered under my Dad's name. Should I submit my license or my Dad's license? I submitted my license and he took it without notice. Said the surveyor will come and approve the replacements 1st and then will they go ahead with all the replacements.
Also, when I told him about doing the 1st service he said it'll be 470 for the oil and 180 for the oil filter and 200 for changing it. When I told him it should be free since its the 1st service, he said it is mandatory charges. I said okay and told him to do what is needful. Will fight it out after the service is done.
But I think its for the chain lubing (which I still am not certain if it'll be done), washing and cleaning of the bike.
Any inputs guys?__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______
