I got 52.5 cuz I stuck onto the manual like crazy...

            1. I'd start the bike and idle it for 60 seconds exact..
            2. For the next 4-5 kms I'd shift at 3.5 - 4k rpm...
            3. Then on shift the 1st gear at 4k rpm and the rest at 5k rpm.
            4. I made sure the acceleration was ALWAYS linear & brakes were seldom used.
            5. This continued till 559km ODO reading at which the 'F' icon showed up and mileage turned out to 52.5kmpl.
            6. After that I started changing 1st gear at 4.5k and the rest at 5.5k rpm but before I planned to hit 7.5k rpm I met with an accident.

A typical service can cost you about 800.

              SS Engine Oil : 470
              Oil Filter : 167
              Chain Lubrication* : 135
              Labor : 50 Max

*Optional. That's your call if you want it or not. I have bought the Motul chain cleaner and lube and do it myself every 300-500 km. Check the break up.

The extra 200 should be for Chain cleaning+lubing (that too for the kerosene and lube used in the process, not for the service) and coolant top up..N dont expect anything good out of their bike wash..I dont know what sh** cloth they use to wipe it, my metallic blue bike had turned to solid blue! The first thing i did after getting the bike home was a good wash n wax..

Disagreed. It is a part of their standard to dos for 1st servicing. In fact I had to convince those guys a lot NOT to clean and lube the chain since I wanted to do it myself..

Cuz there isn't a mention of the cleaning and lubing. He wants it for changing the oil + filter. WTF?

                        • Lots for confusion here folks.

Yamaha has one of the best product line-up but damn, the after-sales has a shoddy name attached to it.

                          The pricelist so far:

                          Head cowl : 1890\-
                          Right side-fairing : 2200\-
                          Exhaust fibre cover : 450\-
                          Front fork alignment : 750\-

ABikerAtHeart was mentioning about first servicing where labor charges are negligible. My last servicing which was second servicing had no component of labor charges in it cause I did not want a washing also to be done since I was in a hurry. Else they charged me 35 for washing. I can make out over here that dealers are having a heck of a time deciding on dealers charges. I guess it's time Yamaha normalizes it.

Im sure the service centers are cheating us. i guess someone needs to contact yamaha and let them know about this and ask them to post the standard service charges for the free service as well as paid service on their website. This is just 'so not yamaha'! The dealers and the service centers try to spoil the image yamaha has created for itself. anyone going to take this step to let yamaha know? i would have done it myself but i dont know how to..

                              • @Abikeratheart: Chain lubing is a mandatory service to be done! it does not involve extra charges in the "free service" period! If they say they will charge you just ask them to mention that in the bill and simply fire a mail to Yamaha motors with a scanned copy of bill!
