  • Guys,

Thanks for all your support. I have finally booked my baby R - 50th Anniversary LE White. Will get it in a week or so.

No words to express how happy I am. It was my dream to own this bike since it first came out in 2008.

    Thanks again. Good day.

      • Help needed !!

Hey Guys . I din't get my owner's manual . The showroom manager said it will take '2' weeks .

This is a link on how to break in Run in period ( Posted by xxx on CBR 150 r thread )

        The dilemma of 'Engine Break-in'

After going through that article , i'm hell confused beyond . In that article it is mentioned '2' types of break in period . But now , i don't know which method should i prefer ( Manual or some PTR method ) . I request you guys to go through it and provide me a valuable information ( to grow my Engine life )

        Please input your replies ..

        Cheers S.V.Prasad

I followed this one and I guess it worked out well. The engine at least responds well and has opened up well.

Unless you are absolutely sure of what you are doing, follow the run in as described in the manual (<5k RPM for 700 KMS, <7.5k RPM for the next 300 KMS, gradual speeding/ braking).

                • One Doubt !!!

                  Guys

                  I have a doubt .

                  1. When i start performing my Run-in period , i mostly used to ride with pillion and rarely solo ( i.e. 85 % / 15 % ) . My doubt - By riding with pillion , will it cause any harm to the engine ( By stressing it , will the piston rings and other stuff will not get properly settled ? And , will the engine performance will be reduced and will the engine life span will reduce ? )

I guess . Buying a BIKE was quiet easy for me , but maintaining its Run-in period is going to be a big challenge for me

                  Cheers S.V.Prasad

Bro, you seems to be too tensed about the run-in... Riding with pillion doesnt cause any harm to the engine, just down shift gears at the correct time rather than trying to climb a hill in 5th or 6th gear..
You can change the oil at 150 , 500 and 1st service and keep her under 6k for the whole run-in period.. It should be enough to get a better engine life...
                    After all its YAMAHA !!!
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

                    • guys met with a minor accident today. was hit by a cab from behind and i hit a car in front of me, it was not a head on collision, i was going left in the slow moving traffic when this cab behind me suddenly came fast n hit me which made me hit the left side bumper of the front car. i was so angry i shouted when it happened, nothing happened to the bike or me, small bruise to me n small scratch on the tank. thank god no major thing happened. i ll take the bike to service center tomorrow if i find any serious thing.
now the cab hit my left rear side, mostly on the guard that is connected to the tyre hugger, is there any chance that the wheel alignment would be disturbed|? only the hugger is bent half inch towards right. will post pics tomo/...

                            1. Brass color like the Subaru wheels, i love those ! (picture attached).
                            2. White rim with a red thin border. (R15 written in red on the rim)
                            3. Red Color with white border

while carrying a pillion it is advised to shift at higher rpm than normal. Only shifting at lower rpm tends to load the engine.

And trust me s.v ... r15 has bullet proof engine

I personally think ... any darker shades looks pretty... on your L.E

u can choose a rich brass like this:
