My Red rachel is nearing her 6k Mark
and she s due for her third service . now my queries are

1st is about chain lubrication , i have done it only during Service 1 & 2 ( two times )
now it will be again done in the 3rd service
whats the general duration for chain lubrication ?
whats the recommended product for chain lubing ?

secondly , having some sounds from the front fairing when i go in some normal uneven roads ( not too bad though).
did anyone experience the same probs
                pls guide me

and During drive at lower RPMs and esp during 2nd gear/3rd engine gets off And i press ignition again it starts again
iam very much worried about this issue.

                eagerly waiting for your replies
                Congrats.

                1. As Teejay said, it all depends on the condition and riding.
I mean if you had a nice ride in mud/slush/sand etc. you need to clean it and lube it sooner, than normal city riding.

Normal riding conditions- 700- 1000 kms seems fine.

                2. What kind of sounds? If its from the fork, its common to many here.
Please elaborate the kind of sounds.

                3. If you go to 2nd- 3rd and try to pull her from ~1.5- 2 K RPM, with a sudden acceleration, it might shut off!

But, good that all are MINOR!

Bent hugger! You need to check from wher it has been bent, may be the mount, not much!

well the hugger had moved little to the right, so kicked it once from the right, now there it goes correct nothin much happened other then 2 inch of hardly noticeable scratch. nothing happened to any mounts

                        • I have white limited edition r15 and paint on the left cowling is peeling off from edges at 6 to 7 places! my bike is just one and half month old! I washed it only 10 to 15 times! whole bike's paint work is okay except the left cowling..what could be the reason?? few of my mates that warranty will cover it and I'll be replaced with a new part! are they right?

                          • Intro

                            Hi all,

I have been keeping up with this forum for almost one month. Here are some details of the bike,

Bike Color: 50th Anniversary Limited Edition
                            Waiting time: 7 days!
                            Cost: 1.28 L
                            Place: Sri Motors, Chennai.
                            Date: 22nd March, 2012.
Top speed till now: 128 km/hr on odo. (Chennai bypass)

Till now done 750 kms. Initially had vibrations and hands became numb whenever I reach speeds of 100+ for longer durations. But after some time, some 600 kms+, the bike is super smooth . Still feel little numbness on hand when going beyond 6 rpm. Is this normal?. I have never crossed 8 rpm after 500 kms and 7 rpm before 500. But later realized 7 is too high for the run in period of less than 500 kms. Will this have any effect on the bike in the long run? If so what should I do? I would be giving it to service this monday. Looking for any valuable tips

You have violated all the rpm restrictions in run in period You are suppose to ride the first 500kms in less than 5k rpm's.. and 500kms to 1000kms you should be keeping it under 7.5k rpm.. . Imp thing is you should not ride at one speed for prolonged periods.. you should ride in different rpm's..

                              • Guys, I need your advice on the type of oil to be used. My baby R has reached 400KM, and I'm planning to change the oil and oil filter, and do chain lubrication the coming week. However, I'm a bit confused on the type of oil to be used. The manual says to use 20w40 or 20w50 semi-synthetic oil, but some of you guys stated over here to use the mineral one.

So which type should I go for, to keep the engine in good condition? Thanks in advance
