You can also try shifting the saddle bag more towards other side and managing the weight balance accordingly, looks wierd, but it is a temporary workaround, tried on one of trips when we didn't had an option.

The main reason i bought the bike was because i like the looks but when i drove it for around 30kms i came to know it is insanely beautiful from the inside also. I could feel the raw power of the bike waiting for me to open the throttle which even i was tempted to do many times but kept it cool as it would be better in the longer run. As the looks of the bikes are razor sharp so is the handling. Its razor sharp , it goes where i want it to go, now i understand how these SBK owners could ride with ease. ( No offense here) . . .
Will be uploading pictures soon.As soon as i got the delivery i took the tank pad.
& guys please tell me when exactly shall i change the engine oil & shall it be Fully synthetic / SS/Mineral.

Well every episode on your life teaches you something. I will also make sure t o check all these things i give it to SVC
Congrats and Welcome to the club!

Looking forward to upgrade to Yam-R25, Any news?? let me know if this is launching anytime within 2yrs You know I should start saving money
Yeah! The weight is an advantage, the stability increases!

Last time I took a long turn sweeping turn at 120+ with a pillion and it felt awesome!
As if it was running on a track (Railway track kinda stuff )

Also no idea about the Yammie 250! According to spy news its the crappy looking Fazer 250 and not the R25!

If they get an R25, even I'll be looking forward to buying it.

Hmm.. So after 2 days! Thats suspicious!

How did you ride for those 2 days, ripped, sane and how many kms?
                Did you feel any wobbling?

yeah it was my first service so I took it to the speed of around 90 to 100! but that doesn't matters because these bikes are meant to ride hard! 100 is really not a big deal..and I dint feel any wobbling but the nut fell down as I crossed a road breaker..it was a slight hump that's all!

I think you didn't get my question properly!

I'm asking, how many kms did you ride after the service in those 2 days, before the nut fell off?

                    • Few points , that i would like to share with you guys

                      Hello my dear Friends ..

I would just like to share some things

Maximum speeds in each gear ( By sitting upright ) ..

                      1st gear - 45 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
                      2nd gear - 62 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
                      3rd gear - 92 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
                      4th gear - 108 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
                      5th gear - 117 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
6th gear - 135 km/r ( @ 10,500 RPM ) The Speedometer digits got stuck and the speed did not increased further ..

These above figures are approx and Checked in my College mate R15 V 2.0 ( Limited Edition ) . Checked the top speed in Singles . Rider Weight 75 Kilos . Location - NH 45 ( Between Melmaruvathur Tolgate and Tindivanam ) , Day - Sunday . Date - 15-04-2012 .

The Bike is very aggressive , when it gains its maximum Torque ( i.e 15 NM - 7,500 RPM ) .. And the Bike Engine note Gradually changes ( It sounds little harsh and it is little Louder ) after performing these Experiments ..

And about fuel Efficiency ( on doubles & on Highway )

                      Riding at 6 - 7.5 k RPM ( i.e Varying speeds between 80 - 105 km/hr ) it delivers a descent mileage of 45 km/liter on Highway . [ Rider weight 75 Kilos and Pillion weight 81 Kilos , Total = 156 Kilos ]

I already posted the Mileage figures on City rides .. Here is the Link ( For newbies and for the Guys here ) for your reference ..

                      My Humble request -

Though i checked the TOP SPEED by shifting gears @ 10.5 K RPM . i request you guys not to do the same ..

                      1. Do not Rev till 10.5 K RPM on 1st gear and 2nd gear .. Shift to 2nd gear , when the RPM needle touches 7 K mark and from 2nd gear shift to 3 rd gear when the needle touches 8 K mark .. Why i'm saying this because ( Some of my friends and the SVC Mechanic guy says shifting 1st-2nd gear and 2nd-3rd gear gear between 9 k - 10.5 k RPM may harm the Engine , and so i responded to their words and changed 1- 2 K RPM before in doubles ) From 3 rd-4 th-5 th - 6 th gear , you can Red line the Bike ...........

I noticed few more things -

According to me . the TOP SPEED of this bike in singles is 135 km/hr and in doubles is 126 km/hr only .. This is the accurate speed observed by me .. Checked the TOP SPEED in singles/doubles .. There was no cross wind , maintained correct AIR pressure Front 28 , Rear 35 ( Just added + 2 PSI ) , Chain slackness was correct and chain was lubed well , the road condition was excellent , but weather was too HOT ....

In Singles Rider Weight 75 Kilos - The bike Hits 100 km/r within 13 seconds ( For others you might have Reached 100 km/hr in 10 secs , but this my Observation ) & the bike easily attains 120 km/hr but after that it needs little more power to push it ..

In doubles Rider weight 75 Kilos and Pillion weight 81 Kilos , Total = 156 Kilos - The bike easily attains 105 km/hr but after that it needs little more power to push it ..

Note - All these observations are made by me . And others might have different observations . So i request you to share your observation here .. If you guys don't like this post means , please ignore it and continue responding to other posts ...

                      Cheers S.V.Prasad

I thought rev limiter would save engine from harm..... it might make engine bit more hot at that moment though...

I also achieved the same top speed of 135 and I weigh 86.... never ridden that fast with pillion though...

As said by Akshay Rev limiter comes into play at exactly 10500 and the funny part is thats where redlining starts(as depicted in speedo console ). The drop in power at >10500 is just so sudden that first time when i tried to redline i was just surprised! Guess thats the case for everybody at 10.5 rpm?
P.S: Top whack for me (58kg) was 140Km/hr. It still had a little bit of power left i guess. Still i din want to go beyond that!
Rx is a Phoenix!!! It always rise from ashes!!

Increasing the air pressure above prescribed limits, especially when its hot and on highways, is not recommended at all. In fact in such a situation people maintain 1 - 2 PSI lower than the prescribed levels.

Yes, that's the case for everyone.

It is because of rev limiter and the whole feel is very SBK .

Try that, ripping up to rev limit and switch, technique on any other bike in the segment and you would feel how R15 does not make you feel untill 10.5 that engine isn;t happy. Enjoy the difference.

Top speed is more, (58 Kg) 143 Kmph and may be more, would check in next Pune - Bangalore trip. You need to know correct way to do it.
-- with pillion as well it is more, have done 131 Kmph with a heavy pillion on a not so optimistic road.

                                1. Make sure bike is in awesome condition
                                a. Lots of things here..

                                2. While riding..
                                a. let the bike warm up properly..
                                b. air pressure etc condition should be all good.
                                c. Rip in 4 gear, let the rev limiter kick in at 110KMPH couple of times..
                                d. Then rip in 5th gear.. let the rev limiter kick in at 129KMPH couple of times.. – 131KMPH for V2
                                e. No gear changing to 6th gear yet..
                                f. Tuck in full.. use air flow.. start seeing road through windscreen!! let rev limiter lick in one more time on 5th gear..
                                g. Then change to 6th gear, full throttle..
                                h. Should reach 143-144 easily..
