Got serviced 500 Km before and no accident, its just dead.

Tried to start it through gear and succeeded only to find that the engine fails to rev up, producing weird sounds and the engine warning lights come up.

Don't have time today as well to go to SVC, in case this problem is known to anyone, solution and tips would be appreciated.
Engine warning light comes up only when the bike has had a fall or the electricals of the bike have been messed up...Since you havent had an accident it means something has gone wrong inside with the electricals.. Go to the SVC asap- only option -as R15 is not every mechanic's cup of tea hence self repair or local mechanics might further mess up..

These symptoms are nothing but a dead/ drained out battery. If you're a DIY guy, just get a spare battery from a battery charging outlet of the same rating & crank her up, thus you can be rest assured that you can kick some a$$ in YASS for battery warranty & replacement.

      • R15 v2.0

        Hi,
It's my first post. I own a Black R15 V 2.0,my first bike, and it's a beauty to say the least. It's a month and 2 days already and I am loving it. I have covered around 940 kms. till day and I must say, I am speechless.
I have ridden a P220, a FZ, a Boxer, a SZ and one R15 V 1 before. Might be due to the ECU, but this one feels much better than the previous version.
Got the servicing done this Saturday and suddenly the sound has become different. Previously a grunty sound used to come. Now a mixture of grunty and a mushy sound is coming.
But, the thing is that, I am getting vibrations near the tank area, at around 40-60 kms range. I told the same to the servicing guys and they said they had fixed the issue, but I am getting the same problem still. Other than that, it's been a fantastic experience. I am slightly worried as this problem was not there in the R15 v 1. Is it normal to get the vibrations??

P.S.:I have never gone above the 5K rpm mark.

Do u feel harshness on the handle bar? Something like some metal scraping through the inside of the engine kind of a feeling??Wait a minute, are u facing jus the vibration problem or both vibration and a rough engine?? I too am facing the same. Vibrations and the harshness starts once i cross the 7k mark.bike was smooth till 1500 kms ,Post that i have bin facing this.Present odo is 3800km.Could anyone throw some light on this??Can improper valve clearance lead to insanely rough engine??

I wasn;t going to do anything that I am not aware about.

It wasn't drained, just the negative terminal was loose, checked it myself and fixed it up.

All fine now. Thanks for the feedback.

              • Hey guys, is it true, that Yamalube engine oil is manufactured by motul? I bought two bottles of 15w/50 SL for my Ninja 250r and it's labeled as manufactured in India... I believe it's the same oil used in the R15...

Must be true. They say the same in case of chain spray and lube.

It is Motul only, the same oil is used for r15 as well as all yamaha SBK's confirmed from Yamaha Pune SBK mechanic.

Yes. When you start your bike after a long delay (like in the mornings), the engine is cold. RPM will rise a little in such cases in the engine warm up process.
